Head Coach Carl Rees and five former Fairfield University Men's Soccer student-athletes were chosen for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) 40th Anniversary Team. The team was selected as part of the conference's celebration of 40 years of competitive and academic achievement. The selections were made by the conference on Tuesday morning. Joining Rees on the MAAC's 40th Anniversary team are Sam Bailey (1998-01), Rob Defaveri (2004-07), Jim McElderry (1989-92), Michael O'Keeffe (2009-12), and (2004-07).

Michael O'Keeffe – 2009-12
Michael O'Keeffe finished his career with a 1.13 goals against average over his four years with 302 saves and nine shutouts in 70 games. He earned the 2011 MAAC Defensive Player of the Year after posting five shutouts, making 65 saves, and posting a 1.17 goals against average in 18 matches. He earned four All-MAAC berths during his career and collected two All-Region awards.
Coach Carl Rees
Carl Rees has coached more than 200 games in the MAAC over his 24 seasons with the Stags soccer program. He has posted 136 wins in MAAC play and holds a .673 winning percentage against conference foes. His overall win total stands at 227 victories (.585 winning percentage). Rees has captured five regular-season titles and five tournament championships, advancing to five NCAA tournaments. Rees became the first Fairfield coach to win an NCAA tournament game with the team's win over UConn in the 2006 tournament. He led Fairfield to 16 winning seasons and several national rankings during his career.
