Other double digit scorers including Taj Benning with 13 points and Jesus Cruz who added 10 points and 11 rebounds.
SERIES HISTORY
This is the first meeting between the Stags and the SeaWolves..
COMIC OF THE DAY
SCOUTING THE SEAWOLVES
Stony Brook is predicted to finish 9th in the American East by several prognosticators. Heading into the offseason, the Seawolves looked as though that they could contend with Vermont at the top of the America East this season. However, with what looked like a promising upcoming season for Stony Brook, the Seawolves, unfortunately, took a massive hit in the offseason when head coach Geno Ford lost six players due to transfer. Four of the six transfers were the top four scorers from last season, and as a result Stony Brook is now projected to finish near the bottom of the conference. Projected starters include guards Tykei Greene (JR), Tyler Stephenson-Moore (SO), Tavin Pierre Philippe (SO) and forwards – Mouhamadou Gueye (SR), Leighton Elliott-Sewell (JR)
SCOUTING THE STAGS
The Stags winless streak stretched into its 8th month with the loss versus Hartford. Senior Tag Benning extended his streak of double digit scoring to three games going all the way back to the MAAC tournament. Supreme Cook showed touch around the basket and looks to become a more important part of the rotation. Jesus Cruz had a double double. Stags hope to get more scoring versus a Stony Brook team that is very inexperienced..

TRIVIA QUESTION
Since Blocks became an official NCAA statistic what player appeared in the most Fairfield Games without recording a single block? answer to follow…..
CLIMBING THE LEADER BOARDS
NEXT 500 POINT SCORER
With 13 points versus Providence Senior Taj Benning has broken the 500 point mark for his career. With 507 points Benning is now 92nd all time on the Stags career scoring list chasing #91 Jerry Johnson, Jr.(539).
NEXT 1000 POINT SCORER
With 10 points versus Hartford Senior Jesus Cruz is now 38 points away from scoring 1000 points in his career. With 462 points Cruz is now 49th all time on the Stags career scoring list chasing #48 William Jones(964 pts), #47 Ryan Olander(972), #46 Didier Bouchard(979) and #45 Steve Balkan(982).
TRIVIA ANSWER
Tyquan Goode appears in 120 games without recording a block. He truly stands apart in the category, since blocks became an official statistic the only other Stags to appear in more than 50 games without a block were Mike Plantsky (who appeared in 63 games) and Danny Oglesby(who appeared in 59 games). (Herbie Allen appeared in 77 consecutive games without recording a block but he had blocks before and after this stretch).

Cardboard Cutout to manage Barone Campus Center
While Jim Fitzpatrick was busy attending the Fairfield game versus Hartford, a fight broke out in the campus center, leading University President Mark Nemec to wonder, “what kind of chaos will ensue when Fitzpatrick finally retires?” Does anyone else have a key to the campus center? Will an earthquake topple the building? Fitzpatrick has been a fixture in the campus center since he arrived more than a half century ago with little more than a typewriter, slide ruler and a set of encyclopedias. At the time, man had not set foot on the moon and Pluto was still a planet.
Reportedly in a move to try and stem disaster when Fitzpatrick finally departs Nemec plans to place a cardboard cut-out of Fitzy in the campus center to “continue to watch over things.” If the idea works out as well, Nemec hopes to replace additional staff members, including several of the deans, with cut-outs. According to Nemec, “I’m not really sure what all these deans do anyway. “
While a permanent cutout of Fitzpatrick in the campus center would be a fitting tribute to his years of service, even with a cutout to help us remember him, Fitzy will be missed……
With apologies to Mark Nemec and best wishes to Jim Fitzpatrick
