JJ Duke @jjduke21 Not sure what’s cooler. The fact that we’ve got pro Men’s lax happening here in Connecticut? Or the fact that we’ve gotten great crowds at a fantastic facility on national TV with that beautiful @fairfieldstags logo on full display.

I do agree with two of his descriptions . The crowds were great and the facility looked very good on national TV. However , the “F” logo on the field does nothing for me. I prefer the stag in motion because to me it shows progress going forward rather then a staid/static position. Static when used as adjective means “lacking in movement, action, or change, especially in a way viewed as undesirable or uninteresting.” Not the image I would want to project to a TV audience.

Sorry JJ but I doubt that anyone watching the 4 games nationally televised on ESPN had any idea what the big red F was nor cared.

That all said, on Sunday, the mentions of FU were continuous throughout the day.
One announcer even made the statement "This place is awesome"
Can't get much better PR than that.
My hope is we get another shot hosting this next year and have learned how we can increase impressions even more.
The F logo is at this point is a moot discussion unless someone can make the case with some real market research. Yes, my gut says the F is not the best representation, but I have no statistics that can prove otherwise.
Either way, when I watch a sporting event, one of my first questions is, where are they playing, especially in sports where there is no home venue (e.g. golf, tennis or PRO LAX)
As '73 an others suggested, some signage on the WAC would be a great start and even if it costs us, need some drone and cut away views of the campus throughout the weekend. Next year it will include a magnificent view of the new ACC. Also need to insure mentions like we received on Sunday are built into both days.

Great stuff, also gets a lot of people from the local community on campus and building familiarity with the University. Hopefully they took note of the new arena and we find them back on campus during the basketball season as well.
