I was just reading in the newspaper that a sophomre dorm is going to be built on campus. They are going to call it "Regis West. Does anyone know where the dorm is to be built? Tried website of architects but was not specific. Hopefully it won't be in the middle of the Quad like I had heard previously.

I was told by town resident the dorm will be constructed behind regis taking part of the existing parking lot. Lots of other construction besides the ACC is currently underway on campus. Renovations of Gonzaga hall, additional new townhouses units and refurbishment of the existing townhouses are all underway.

Kinda figured this was coming. Anyone read the latest Fairfield magazine? Largest incoming freshman class ever with a total of I believe 1,325 students!! I wish they renovated the facade of these buildings. Not the prettiest. On the other hand, you see those stunning architectural beauties they are putting up across town (SHU dorms)? Why not us??

The rooms will cost 10-12k per year per student at Villanova. Depending on the rates and terms of the debt, equity and donations, VU should do alright on that project. It will help draw more than a few 60k per year students.

Rather than correct the architectural wrongs of the past, the university continues to exacerbate the problem by putting up buildings that "fit." How about building facilities that "fit" with Bellarmine, Dolan, McAuliffe and the Prep?!?! SHU is clearly trying to rectify its campus situation with its stunning new dorms. And the Villanova buildings are timeless and inspirational.

^^^ It’s mind boggling that we don’t move toward a more stone architecture

I really thought when Alumni House was built we had turned the corner.
The ones that really bug me are the Kelley Center and the Jesuit Residence. Both the architect and the people at FU who approved those should find another career.
The Nursing building is another major disappointment.

Alumni House (a great view of Long Island Sound and Long Island from the second floor) Jesuit Residence (the Gate House at the campus entrance is better looking and classier than the this awful building)

Both the architect and the people at FU who approved those should find another career. The Nursing building is another major disappointment. I blame it on the trustees who don't hold these decision-makers accountable and just seemingly blanket approve whatever is presented. They have successfully turned a quaint campus into rather crowded and unremarkable campus. The one building that really kills me is Donnarumma Hall. It is a brick monstrosity that really doesn't even fit next Canisius Hall. Further, it cutoff Bellarmine Hall, the most significant building at Fairfield, from the rest of campus.

Additional facilities are required As the schools student body has grown , so it is natural for the campus to feel somewhat crowded. However, The campus is still IMO a beautiful place.

Agree on the Kelly Center, if you are putting up an ugly building don't place it smack dab in the middle of the campus. Question, will the Alumni house be used as a pregame meeting place or does the new gym have space designed for that?

Question, will the Alumni house be used as a pregame meeting place or does the new gym have space designed for that?terpstag, David Frassinelli, Vice President for Facilities Management at Fairfield University, is overseeing the design and construction of the project. He described how sports fans, concertgoers, and event attendees will enter the new arena from the main entrance off of Loyola Boulevard and find themselves on a spacious, open concourse level, looking toward a large beer garden, satellite concessions, and access to seating that surrounds the court below. Above the concourse, plans call for an upper level Stags Club with additional rows of seating and a conference room overlooking the court. The lower (court) level will feature amenities to support Stags student-athletes, including a film room, a team lounge, and a training room for taping, icing, and first aid operations.... fairfieldstags.com/facilities/on-campus-arena-fall-2022-/26Last season a Stags Club membership was $150 ($120 Youth). Stags Club membership included a home game (15) meal in the Stags Club suite at Webster Bank Arena, a pregame chalk talk with a member of the Fairfield men’s basketball coaching staff and a cash bar featuring signature Fairfield Stags drinks.
