With the 2-1 victory, Stag Women's Soccer has won seven-straight home matches dating back to last season including a perfect 5-0 clip in 2022.
"We're pleased with the result," Head Coach David Barrett said. "We gave them a little bit of life in the last 20 minutes but for large stretches we did pretty well. We feel like we still have some things to clean up and certainly had a couple of chances to put the game away and we didn't quite do that. We're creating chances and we're defending well. Overall, we'll take the three points and move forward."
With the win, the Stags (7-2-0)(2-0-0) move into a first-place tie in the MAAC standings with Quinnipiac (6-1-1)(2-0) as the only two teams to have started the conference slate at (2-0). Fairfield will hit the road to travel to Mount St. Mary's (1-2-5)(0-1-1) in a matchup with the newest team in the MAAC on Wednesday afternoon with a 4pm kickoff.
