With just 11 seconds left on the game clock , Elle Scott tapped in a cross to the back post from Maddy Theriault to give the Fairfield University Women's Soccer team an exciting 2-1 victory at #8 Saint Peter's (3-12-0)(2-5-0). The victory is the third-straight for Fairfield who improve to (6-1) in the MAAC and (11-3) overall. The win was also the 300th in program history. "Obviously the team was very excited," Head Coach David Barrett said. "It was a well-executed goal. Reagan (Klarmann) made a great run as a decoy which left Elle open at the back post to tap it in. They kept their concentration even though the clock was running down. We played until the end and that has always been the hallmark for us."With 3 games left in the MAAC Regular Season, Fairfield increases their overall record to 11-3, tying the most wins in a single season under Head Coach David Barrett. The win was also the 300th in program history as the Stags stand at (300-214-69) in their 31st season. Fairfield also keeps their second-place position in the MAAC standings as they have now tallied 18 points. The #2 Stags will look to keep their momentum going as they make the trip to Western New York to face #4 Canisius (2-1-4)(4-3-7) on Saturday at 1pm.
