FINALLY! I am pleased to see the Dolan School of Business adminstration and students stepped up their efforts to ensure that we were included in this very prestigous ranking of undergraduate business schools. I am not pleased where we are ranked relatively to some of our peers, but, just being included in the list is a big step forward in increasing the awareness of the Dolan School of Business. www.fairfield.edu/press/pr_index.html?id=3743

FU is outranked by Quinnipiac in this listing. Heads should roll over this.

Fairfield and Quinnipiac have become peer institutions. Go Stags and go Bobcats!!! Yes, we are peers now, which is a major disappointment to Fairfield alumni who have watched Quinnipiac rapidly grow its facilities, academic reputation and athletic stature, while our alma mater essentially has flatlined for the last two decades. I think many Fairfield alumni are envious of the bold moves that Dr. Lahey has made and which are beginning to pay off for the Q.

I think that FU has a lot of very good people involved at the school. I'm not sure that these same people are the ones thats can take us too the next level. Lahey has clearly elevated Quinnipiac.

Dr. Lahey and his administration clearly had a long term plan and implemented that plan and is continually implementing that plan towards their endowment (higher than Fairfield), athletics (moved up to MAAC and ECAC Hockey), facilities (TD Bank Center) and university expansion.

Should we question the leadership of von Arx? Can he elevate the university? Too many schools, IMO, closing the gap with us. If we aren't moving forward, we're moving back.

Fairfield still has many advantages over QU. In my eyes the most important of which is Catholicism. FU enjoys a rich Jesuit tradition begun by Saint Ignatius Loyola and St. Francis Xavier. Unfortunately, aside from its religious clubs QU is very secular.

The Jesuit presence at FU is very important but "numbers" are important too. QU should never have caught up to us in the numbers department. Is FU addressing this?
