The Fairfield University Baseball team (7-7) will compete closer to their home ballpark when they travel 46 miles down I-95 to take on the A-10 Fordham Rams (4-12) for a three game seriews starting on Friday at Houlihan Park in the Bronx. The series will begin with a Friday afternoon contest at 3:00pm, followed by a 1:00pm first pitch on Saturday. The series will be completed on Sunday at Noon. All games will be streamed on ESPN+. The Stags will play in one more non-conference game before the MAAC slate starts on March 24 against Siena when they take on NEC Central Connecticut State in New Britain, CT on Wednesday, March 22 at 2:00pm.  Houlihan Park has been the home for the Fordham baseball team since its most recent renovation in 2005. Then-named Jack Coffey Field, for the longtime Fordham baseball coach, the facility underwent a $4.3 million renovation, which included a new drainage system, a new FieldTurf surface, a new scoreboard and sound system, and lights. In addition, new bullpens, recessed dugouts, a 500-seat grandstand, a press box and a renovated entrance were also a part of the new look of the complex. Nice 9-4 win in game 1. Jake did a nice 7 inning job on the mound and the Stags bats exploded yet again! Stags remind me of the Bash Brothers! The guys hit the weight room hard in the off season and are now just blasting the ball. Thank god for the baseball team in the midst of a dreadful year for men's athletics.
Interesting note...Freshman starter Matt Bucciero (2-3, 1 RBI) from Ridgefield, CT bested his twin brother and Fordham starter Dan Bucciero (0-2, 1 RBI).

Does anyone else think that a small Stag in motion logo would have been a better choice? |

Great weekend...could of, should have been a sweep as the Stags left a lot of runners on base in game 2. I believe that had 2 bases loaded situations.

Like you said, a shame they didn't get the sweep - but the team seems on a trajectory for a very good season.
