A dominating defensive effort saw just three goals scored by the host Jaspers as the Fairfield University women's lacrosse team defeated Manhattan, 13-3, on the road Wednesday afternoon. The effort by the squad, in addition to a Niagara win over Siena shortly after, the Stags claim at least a share of the MAAC Regular Season Championship and have officially locked up the No. 1 seed in the 2023 MAAC Tournament. That also means they will have a bye past next weekend's opening round and will host Championship Weekend May 5th and 7th from Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium. The #1 Stags are (6-1) at home this season with their only loss (10-11) to #3 Niagara.
