With a “W” over an inept Hampton team the stags finished 5-9 this season. This brings Coach Baxter’s four year record at FF to an undistinguished 19-27. Is it about time now for Schlickmann/Nemec to offer Baxter a contract extension ala Jay young? The previous coach Andy Copeland was at FF for 11 seasons and had at least a winning overall record of 87-78. I remember when Rafferty Stadium was being built there was optimism FF could compete nationally in Lax. The reality is FF cannot even compete favorably in the CAA . Mens Lax like it’s counterpart in mens hoops are programs that are underwhelming and appear to be going no where.

It called institutional incompetence and/or institutional apathy. Change is needed at the top.

It called institutional incompetence and/or institutional apathy. Change is needed at the top. I cannot disagree. I think the administration is really not committed to winning. I believe the school only PARTCIPATES in D1 sports because their competition for applications also sponsors D1 sports. Div 1 sports would be dropped immediately IMO if administration thought it would not impact applications. At the same time we must be realistic and understand the financial commitment to D1 sports is not limitless. It is clear to me all of this "pay for play" nonsense called the NIL is not sustainable for a mid major programs. It will lead to a continued escalating "arms race" for the athletes.

The Mahoney family didn’t donate a lot for our athletic programs to be mediocre. Need folks that can figure all of this out. I don’t think those folks are currently at FU. Time to blame the BOTs.

Isn't a Mahoney on the BOT? That's where this discussion needs to be introduced with our president. All of us bitching on this board will not move the needle.
