"McVeigh pounded the zone for six innings and pitched especially well with runners on base," Head Coach Bill Currier said. "Our hitters, especially the lower guys in lineup, had a good power day. We did a good job staying to our zone and hitting in hitters counts."In total, the Stags pounded out a season-high 21 hits while only drawing three walks. It is the 33rd time this season that Fairfield has tallied double-digit base knocks and the 19th time they have reached double-digit runs in a game. Fairfield also improves their overall record to (30-15), their third-straight season reaching the 30-win plateau. Fairfield also keeps their first-place position in the MAAC with a (13-4) mark. The Stags are (9-1) in their last ten games. The #1 Stags will look for a sweep of #9 Marist (13-35)(7-13) in the finale on Sunday at 1:00 pm. Live Statsgoredfoxes.com/sidearmstats/baseball/summary

Been looking for broadcast coverage for the finale of this 3 game series. Nothing on either schools schedule or on watch ESPN stream.
Has anyone seen a link? The announcers yesterday were saying this was their last broadcast yet Marist has 3 more home games next weekend.
Really sends a message to the Marist players about the status of baseball in their athletics program. They do have the platform to stream it.

Big game for the Stags with Canisius and Rider close behind in the standings. Could be the difference between 1st and 3rd place (and a first round bye or not)
Edit: Just got a little breathing room; Manhattan beat Canisius.

Yes I agree pitching particularly the bull pen is weak. That is why I doubt the stags will win the MAAC tournament and reach the NCAA this year. Good pitching will always defeat good hitting particularly in short series.

Awful loss Updated standings: Fairfield 13-5 Rider 13-5 Canisius 15-6 Yes certainly an awful loss at the wrong time, especially given the fact that 14 runs scored should always equal a victory. As a famous Yankee announcer might say to that however, "that's baseball Susan," is an apt description of the fact that you never know what will happen when you observe a game. Anyway moving forward, the most important thing now is for the Stags to finish 1st or 2nd, thereby eliminating the need to start out play in the first round meaning at least one less contest they would have to win on the way to the championship. And with that thought in mind as we go into the final weekend of play, does anyone know who would have the tie-breaker between the Stags and Rider if they finished up with the same record? Also regarding the different amount of games we and Canisius will have participated in (thanks MAAC and Rich Ensor), I think I am correct in suggesting that it's the overall percentage which takes precedence. Is that correct? Therefore if that is true, winning the last three games against a weak Iona team should do the trick, at least vs. Canisius if not Rider. Big weekend of ball ahead. Go Stags!

Go Stags! maacsports.com/sports/2016/8/13/211120191.aspxI am not sure of the tiebreaker. FU did not play Rider; both teams were 1-2 vs Canisius. Quinnipiac finished 4th but FU did not play them during regular season (another thank you to Ensor). After that, its how FU & RU did against the 5th place team, which could be one of three teams. I quit
