Ethan Hibbard was named a Collegiate Baseball Newspaper National Player of the Week following the best offensive week of his career as he batted .667 (6-for-9) with four homers, nine runs scored, and seven RBI in Fairfield's three-game sweep of Iona. The senior enjoyed his torrid week during Fairfield's Senior Day celebration, also helping the Stags to clinch their third-straight MAAC Regular Season Championship.

"Hibbard has done a tremendous job for us stepping up as a defensive catcher," Head Coach Bill Currier said. "He's a real catalyst to our offense with power at the bottom of the order."

The amazing thing about Hibbard is that he had a total of 9 at-bats the previous 2 seasons, and just 13 ABs this season before Venuto went down. It's a shame about Venuto, but great to see Hibbard take advantage of the opportunity that presented itself.
