The MAAC 2022 tax return" reflects conference expenses for "grants and other assistance" of cash to each of the institutions in the league. The amounts are all not equal with Monmouth getting more then 2X of Fairfield. By any chance do you know how the distributi0ns are determined?

How much of the MAAC's bump came from St Peter's run? I read $ 1 million a year for 6 years.
I think you are correct, on the MAAC 2022 tax return the revenue increases significantly from 2021. There is line item called other revenue for $1,000,000.00. that line item is not seen on the '19, '20 or '21 returns. So that MAY be the first of the six payments you mentioned.
The patriot league may a better fit for the stags from an academic and a brand standpoint. However, from a monetary standpoint the MAAC appears to be more favorable then the Patriot league when comparing monetary support provided by each league to its member institutions. The 990 tax for both the MAAC and the Patriot league list monetary support provided to its member institutions. FF- (Monetary Support provided to Fairfield by MAAC) 2022-$397K 2021- $0 2020-$440K 2019-$259K Patriot League- (Median monetary support provided to Patriot member institutions) 2022-$119K 2021-$50K 2020-$72K 2019-$89K
“The patriot league may a better fit for the stags from an academic and a brand standpoint.” Totally agree and I think this should be the most important criteria. Also believe long-term it will provide more economic value.
Looks like UConn football will continue to be an independent for the near future, leaving UConn basketball in the Big East. I doubt that any conference would want to add a currently 0-5 football team with nonexistent student support as shown below. Mora’s second year as football coach is not going as well as his first year.
UConn Football is (0-4) at home and averaging 26,799 "at" their 40,000 seat Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field in East Hartford. Tickets for the Sacred Heart vs UConn game on November 18 are available for $5.00 - $70.00 (plus surcharges) and Parking is $22.70.
I don't understand the desire to denigrate UConn, especially on the Fairfield University fansite, the mother of all glass houses. At least UConn had the vision and will to go for an upgraded program. Fairfield pulled the rug out from under its own after 5 years. UConn soccer, baseball and, of course, mens and women's basketball, are at an elite level. And they have a hockey team. Fairfield has won the MAAC title in mens basketball 3 times since 1986. Let's focus on improving that.
I was just in a conference with a former student’s parent talking up the UConn education school. I know many graduates who had a great experience at Storrs . But denigrating UConn's teams whenever the opportunity arises is sport for many Fairfield fans. Self included. Just like rooting against the Yankees for Mets fans etc. No one takes it seriously least of all those of us who enjoy it.
Learned from an On3 article that FBS schools have a two year grace period to get to 8 teams for a conference. This gives the remaining two schools in the PAC-12 (Oregon State and Washington State) a little bit of time to try and decide what they’d like their future conference to be. I find it difficult to believe that what’s occurring on the West Coast is going to affect the conference alignments near us, but I don’t remember seeing people speculating that the ACC was looking to add SMU. However, that’s what happened so no telling what might eventually happen as the dominoes start to fall.
…The NCAA grants a two-year grace period for a FBS league to reach the required eight-team threshold for viability…

The bottom line is they are two totally different institutions. The only real commonality is that they are located in CT. No reason to denigrate either program.
