Marist College and Quinnipiac University have been voted as the favorites in the 2023 MAAC Volleyball Preseason Coaches’ Poll, as voted on by the league’s 10 head coaches. Moreover, Marist’s Sasha van der Merwe has been named Preseason Player of the Year. Fairfield University, finished third in the poll with 76 points and one first-place vote. Iona University was voted in fourth-place, picking up 70 votes, while Canisius University (57), Rider University (51), and Siena College (49) followed in fifth, sixth, and seventh, respectively, all earning one first-place vote.

The Stags open the 2023 campaign on August 25-26 with three matches at the Army Invitational with the home opener on Saturday, September 2 against AE UMBC (University Maryland, Baltimore County) at 2:30 pm in Mahoney Arena. fairfieldstags.com/sports/womens-volleyball/schedule
Fairfield won its fourth consecutive MAAC Regular Season Championship and reached the MAAC Championship Match in 2022. The Stags finished last Fall with a record of (25-7) and (17-1) in the MAAC but lost (1-3) to Quinnipiac in the championship game.
