I always take these things with a grain of salt unless it is within final month of season, but Joe's latest has the MAAC representative (Iona) as a #15. Guess he is not buying into the hype that the league is pretty good this year. Then again maybe he figures that the teams are so balanced and unpredictable that they will knock each other off enough to take away the possibility of a super team that would demand a higher seed. Oh well. BTW he certainly takes a different tone with his beloved Philly duo (and schools we play) as he has both St. Joe's and Drexel as #10 seeds!

While the MAAC as a whole will be a strong league, the top seeded team or Tournament Champion will not be that highly rated. It’s not just that the top 7 will beat each other down, it’s also that there is not a dominant team like Iona of last year or Siena 3-4 years ago. BTW, Lunardi usually opens his bracketology from one of last year’s top teams in the MAAC. I don’t think he puts much credence in it himself.
