The Stags face the Bobcats tomorrow at Mahoney Arena in a contest between the #1 Bobcats and the #2 Stags. QU is undefeated in the MAAC (6-0) and the Stags (5-1) have one loss on the road courtesy of Marist. Both teams stats YTD are very familiar. The stags are hitting .190 and QU .180. Kills favor QU at 12.4 p/set and FF behind at 11.1 p/set. FF appears to be slightly better on defense with 14.7 digs p/set vs QU at 13.9 p/set and FF has at advantage in blocking , FF with 2.3 blocks p/set (league leading) and QU at 1.6 p/set. I expect the contest to go five sets and i give the advantage to FF because their defense digs and blocking is slightly better . If you can control the net and keep the ball of the floor on defense than you have a better chance of winning the match,. Go Stags!

Back from a very entertaining VB match at the β Leoβ. Quinnipiac is no longer undefeated as the stags hang an βLβ on them 3-1. FF hit a respectable.236 vs QU .145. The difference maker was at the net where FF had 12 blocks to QU 5 blocks. The Stags are in first place tied in league play with QU at 6-1. FF is 10-5 overall vs QU at 10-6. The stags , QU and Marist will be in the hunt this year for #1 in the MAAC.

Thanks for the updates 74. I watched on ESPN+ (too far away to get there in person). Excellent match. Team definitely coming together. A more balance attack this year which is good. Fun to watch.

"The bottom line is that we did what we needed to do to win tonight," said Head Coach Nancy Somera. "We were tough when we needed it, we were scrappy when we needed it. Quinnipiac is the best defensive team in the conference, but we out-dug and out-blocked them. Kyla was outstanding leading the back row, and once we started to get accustomed to their hitters' timing and rhythm, our blocking came together as well."SET ONE (25-22, Fairfield)The two sides traded points to an 8-8 tie before the Stags slowly pushed ahead 17-11. After falling behind 20-13, the Bobcats went on a 3-0 run to force a Fairfield timeout. Out of the break, QU was able to cut the score to as close as 23-22 before Fairfield eventually held on for the 25-22 set victory. SET TWO (26-24), FairfieldThe two sides remained even through 17-17 before Fairfield pushed ahead 22-19. However, the Bobcats responded with a 4-0 run to force a Fairfield timeout, leading 23-22. Out of the break, the two sides played to a 24-24 tie in the set before the Stags took the set 26-24. SET THREE (25-21), QuinnipiacThe Bobcats came out the gates on fire, jumping out to a 10-4 lead before Fairfield burned its first timeout of the set. Quinnipiac's lead in the set reached as much as 17-10 before the Stags slowly crept back in the match to cut it as close as 22-18 before QU used a timeout. However, out of the break, the Bobcats were able to secure the 25-21. SET FOUR (25-18), FairfieldThe Stags got off to a 7-1 lead before QU used a timeout. Out of the break, the Bobcats fought back to trim the deficit to 12-8 before Fairfield used a timeout. However it wasn't enough, as the Bobcats eventually fell in the set 25-18 and match, 3-1. gobobcats.com/news/2023/10/6/womens-volleyball-bobcats-six-game-win-streak-snapped-with-loss-at-fairfield.aspx244 fans at the game.
