Per FanLax, Delaware Lacrosse remains eligible to compete in the CAA through 2025. However, it does seems like Delaware is keeping its options open and there is a rumor about them moving to the ACC in a lacrosse only deal! Which would be a homerun! We’ll see…. A-10 might also be a landing spot.
The CAA will have lost UMASS and Delaware in recent years - two strong programs! So wondering what future CAA lacrosse looks like. In a weird way, it could ultimately help us. If strength of the league decreases, it could be an opportunity for us to compete better in the league and go to NCAAs more often. Some have argued that we jumped to highly competitive leagues too quick and it stopped our momentum. I don’t know if I fully agree, but as I said, Delaware leaving the CAA in lacrosse (if that does ultimately happen) might be a good thing for Stag Lacrosse.

I don’t feel FF jumped into a highly competitive league to soon. I think what happened is Other schools invested more heavily in lax then FF and we as usual got left behind and became less competitive then in earlier years.

But, strategy not working now, so think this development might in long run help us (ie. If we can become a consistent winner in a weaker CAA and go to NCAA more).

FUs prior league had Ohio State, Michigan, Denver and Loyola. It’s easier to recruit and bring in fans when those schools are on your schedule.
