Let the good times roll! The Stags may stay at No. 25 in this one voter's poll regardless of how much they win. It will be hard for them to move up and one loss will bring a time to look at someone else.
25. Fairfield (12-1): A new entry as the Stags' win at Canisius Saturday leaves them and Quinnipiac as the only unbeatens in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Fairfield hosts Iona Thursday and Siena Saturday.

apnews.com/hub/ap-top-25-womens-college-basketball-pollVanderbilt, our only loss, would be #26 with their 38 votes, if the AP did a top 30. From the article at fairfieldstags.com: " It's an honor for our program to be garnering some recognition nationally," Head Coach Carly Thibault-DuDonis said. "I credit every individual in this program from players, to coaches, to staff in the way each person invests in one another. The energy, the connectedness, and the joy that each person brings to the gym every day is infectious. We've talked over and over about being consistent, and when you do that individually and collectively, the parts start to add up to a much bigger and more purposeful whole. For us to be receiving votes in the AP Top 25 is incredibly rewarding and just the beginning of what we are building!"

the recognition is great - but tbh, it's probably just a bit ahead of where they actually are. having said that, i'll take it... and if things were to go swimmingly and they made the NCAA tournament as a 12/13 seed - we're talking about a winnable game.

Our win against St John’s is looking better as they took down #23 Marquette. Go Stags!

I admit to being more of a casual fan of the ladies as opposed to the men (less stressing over individual game results), but seeing national recognition like this now makes me more aware and more excited (and possibly more stressed over the results) as the second half of the season gets underway. Congratulations to the team for where they are and let's hope for more good things to happen. Go Stags!

the women play a good brand of basketball. well-coached quick passing. always looking for the open teammate (occasionally to a fault). everyone will take the open shot. they are deep - I'd say 9 players that could easily slot into the starting lineup. a couple of 1st team players in MA and JB. excellent job by the staff landing 3 vet transfers to really round out the roster. as good as they have been, they have the potential to be even better... this year and beyond.

Coach Blake indicating the down side of mid-major success with this tweet. It becomes more difficult to put together the OOC schedule. If my memory is correct, I think in one Fast Break podcast Coach Carly had mentioned that next season’s OOC was almost complete. Now with our success, teams are backing out of games they had agreed to.

If you are seeded #13-16 your game will be on your opponent's home floor. If the ladies are able to get into the tournament as a 12-seed (or better), they would play an opponent on a neutral court. www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/id/30423107/ncaa-women-bracketology-2024-women-college-basketball-projections
