Stags should handle Marist, but they have been playing better. Can't lose focus.

Home whistle is getting silly in the 3Q.
* I think at one point it was like 8 fouls on Fairfield and 1 on Marist.

Ladies shooting 3-22 on 3's and 13-21 on 2's. Might want to emphasize getting closer shots because they are letting Marist get back in the game.
Might want to be a bit more careful with the ball too. Committing a lot of turnovers.

Stags 43-34 at the end of the Third Quarter. Stags were outscored 13/6 in the quarter. Meghan Andersen with 16 points. Stags 60-46 for the win, (W13)(15-1) and (7-0) in the MAAC but with 23 turnovers. "We relied on our defense," Head Coach Carly Thibault-DuDonis said. "It wasn't pretty but we got the stops we needed to on defense to give ourselves a bit of a cushion. We rebounded the ball a little better in the second half but when your offense doesn't travel, you have to rely on your defense.""We challenged all our 'Road Runners' at halftime to be better on the defensive boards," Coach Thibault-DuDonis said. "She (Emina Selimovic) took the challenge. Doing things on defense and things you can control gives you some offense and she got big buckets for us down the stretch."Box Scorefairfieldstags.com/sports/womens-basketball/stats/2023-24/marist/boxscore/13884Meghan Andersen with 19 points and 5 boards Emina Selimovic with 15 points and 10 boards (First career double double) Janelle Brown with 9 points, 6 boards and 4 steals Kendall McGruder with 9 points and 1 board Marist shot just 23.2% FG (13/56) in the game. "Defense travels..." - CTD
Certainly helped them get the win, today. Need to be more careful with the ball. A few too many forced passes, I thought. Credit Marist with a nice defensive plan. Stags keep winning the tough ones.

Back from Poughkeepsie. Stags did not look sharp on offense but played enough defense to get it done. It is apparent that Marist is not a very good team and their way under .500 record supports that. Nonetheless a road win which is always difficult to get. So stags up, way up!!

Carbon copies: the 3s by Selimovic and Goodine respectively from that same left wing were eerily similar. Both knew the ball was in and headed back down the floor before the ball went through the hoop. Money!!
