Made shots in the second half, none bigger than the end-of-shot clock long trey by Leach. And had to overcome some horrendous officiating. But the game really was won when Casey switched up to 3/4 pressure in the back court, and falling back into zone on defense. Manhattan had been killing us in the man-to-man but lost their mojo against the zone. We started turning them over and forcing shots at the end of the shot clock, and even forced two shot clock violations. Great adjustments by Chris and staff.

The maestro, however, was Jasper. He disrupted the Jasper offense (6 steals), ripped down 10 boards (much needed) all the while controlling the offensive flow. Hats off to all the Stags for a gutty win.
Solid second half to finish out a tough game. Wasn’t the prettiest to start but you take any MAAC win you can.
Plenty of praise to go around but I think the presence of Jasper Floyd on the court is unbelievable to this team. 6 steals, no fouls, 10 rebounds. He was distributing and breaking the press. Ton of deflections. The little stuff he does really gets runs going. May not always show up in the boxscore but he’s so valuable.

Is it me or is Jasper holding back on open 3s and shots in generally? We need him to be comfortable finishing especially when a drive or shot opens up for him.

Isn’t Fields the only “must” departure of those three? I think who stays will depend on how the season plays out. Some people may want another shot if we fall short of NCAA.

Seck is limited, but Brown is worthless on the floor.
I appreciate Brown. Yeah, he's limited and typically overmatched. Almost all walk-ons are. But he plays hard and has beaten out healthy scholarship players to give us something in a deperate post situation, even if limited. In an ideal world, we'd have enough healthy talent that he wouldn't be playing. That's not the case and I'm glad we have him.

Not sure why Seck cannot seem to hang on to the ball. He must have really weak hands. The team pulled out another win under difficult circumstances because of the injuries. Good for them. Jalen Leach is such a good player, so smooth.Jasper Floyd is the straw that stirs the drink(assists and steals). But the heart and soul of the team is Caleb Fields’s. The guy plays 40 minutes of most games. He is an iron man. Let’s take the games one at a time , enjoy each one and not look to far ahead. Stags up!
