Played like the ball had grease on it. Struggled to solve the zone or hit open shots when they did. At times, they reminded me a bit of Marist, where this time it looked like the Stags were making errors because they were tired or out of shape.
Really... really... really need to tighten up their play at the end of games when they have a lead. I think there have been a few other games where they have made inexplicable turnovers and fouls to give teams a chance when the game should be done and dusted.
Work the clock. Make FTs. Don't make silly passes. Force the other team to go the length of the court when they do have the ball.
Good teams do win the tough ones. Hopefully a motivator for the tough upcoming games and MAAC tournament.

Stags 52-46 for the home win. Fairfield is now (W19)(21-1)(13-0 MAAC) and (10-0) at Rafferty Stadium. For some reason I assumed the women were playing their games at Mahoney, but if we’re 10-0 at Rafferty —we should probably continue playing our games there. 🤨

It does look more like Mahoney Arena than Rafferty Stadium to me. Good help is hard to find and I can assure you that Taylor Swift was not at the game. Sorry about that. "We'll take the win and learn from it," Head Coach Carly Thibault-DuDonis said. "It was ugly certainly but we need to do a better job at taking care of the basketball. We paid a lot of attention to that over the last few weeks and I don't think we did a good job of that today. Credit Saint Peter's defense for that but thankfully our defense showed up. We got some offense from our defense in turning them over early which gave us a boost."Box Scorefairfieldstags.com/boxscore.aspx?path=wbball&id=13890925 box score attendance The Stags will look to build on the win when they travel to Mount St. Mary's for a Saturday, February 17 afternoon game at 2pm.

This was a great game for the Stags. (Am I crazy?)
Hopefully it was a wake up to the team as terrific as they have been playing, they are not invincible in the MAAC.
Good teams usually find a way to win and they did. But, when shooting is off, every possession is even more precious.
Luckily SPU is a bad team. Your 21 turnovers was outdone by their 23.
Subconsciously, you have to think they may have thought this game would be a walk in the park and looking past it--the quintessential "trap game". A top tier team and this is a loss.
That's what makes running the table so challenging. All teams have an off day.
Now it's behind us -- GO STAGS!!

Lots of turnovers against minimal pressure. One of the starting guards was out with a sling on her right arm, hopefully not serious. They do not do a good job at the end of some of the games using the clock, not fouling, etc. A week of to get ready for the final 7 games, let's do it.

^ From looking at the boxscores from a few games, I imagine it was L’Amoreaux whose right arm was in a sling. Which helps me better understand why the final score was much closer than it’s been in most of our MAAC games. Losing the depth at point guard really changes how we would play the game. I’ll be hoping to hear good news about the timetable for L’Amoreaux’s return as I’ve been extremely impressed by her ballhandling and floor leadership when I’ve seen the team play.

Yeah, I think you are correct. Last 5-6 games she has played very well, not shooting as much, but great assist to turnover and always gets boards and steals. Hopefully she's back soon, Brown and Izza seemed to struggle against Peters handling the rock.

Let's hope the Stag men's injury jinx hasn't jumped onto the Lady Stags. L’Amoreaux brings so much energy when she's on the floor – a major pest to the opposition. She was missed vs St.Pete's.
