Enjoy Coach Carly while u can! I just don’t see how FF can hang on to her for another season. Up level job opportunities will explode for her at the end of this season.
She reminds me of when Ed Cooley was at FF you could just tell he was bound for bigger opportunities then FF.

I could see her leaving after 4 or 5 years of success, but I feel like she's here for a while and we're going to see a bit of an extended golden age for Stags women's basketball. |

She'll be back next year. All bets are off after that. Hope she is back but there will be interest. The job is centered around 20 years olds preforming/staying healthy- lots can go wrong with that in a hurry - for instance, Mitch was offered at least one bigger job after his two maac championships - close to the start of the season-turned it down because he felt obligated to honor his FU commitment - things didn’t quite work out well after that. |

It all depends on what Carly wants her next job to be. She'll certainly have offers next year but will she look to make a step up or a leap? Providence was a Big East doormat when Ed took that job. He brought that program back to life. That type of offer may be there but if she wants to leap to a program with more national relevance it will likely take more time.

CTD is getting all kinds of exposure for herself and indirectly for FF. She is a hot coaching commodity and her opportunities at season end will be extensive.I just cannot see her remaining as the FF coach next season. I fully expect her to leave and take some key players with her via the transfer portal.
Ps- Whatever u want to think of Paul Schlickmann as our athletic dept. leader I think u would have to agree that he got it right choosing Carly to lead the womens hoop program.

I guess we'll see after the season. I think they are a lot of hypotheticals... and (as far as I know) none of us have any idea what she's thinking.
I hope CTD and crew stick around a few years... cover Fairfield in glory and leave a legacy. It always felt like Cooley left before the job was finished... and he had the team to do it. I hope this story ends differently!

Where was UCONN before Geno? Where was Gonzaga before Mark Few? Xavier before Gillen? Doesn’t she have a lot of family in the area? Would be cool if she built something special. I know the world has changed, but pretty cool for a coach to be able to look back and say, I changed that program forever.

If she gets us into the big tournament, it will be hard for her to say no to a big payday, especially if the school/location is desirable to her and her family. If she stays and keeps a solid core of players, I hope Schlickmann sweetens her deal.

W/O a doubt if she stays FF will be forced to give her a substantial raise and a contract extension . That might keep her for one more year. Hopefully the school will include a buyout close as part of the contract so if she leaves the school will pick up some extra coin to offer the next coach..However, if she has another successful year then it will be sayonara to stag land.

We spent over $50 million for a brand new facility. What's a few hundred thousand extra to give to Coach Carly to make her stay and have her continue to build something special?
I pray the university and administration ponies up the money. Look at all the national publicity. This is exactly what the school needs and can't buy better advertising! She is a keeper!
