This AM on The ESPN scoreboard app Fairfield is listed as a 16.5 pt favorite. I think that spread is to way to high. There is just not that much of a difference in the MAAC between the top teams and the bottom teams in the league Other favorites playing around the MAAC today are 1.5 to 2.5 favorites.
Rather difficult to get a read on who’s not available for Siena since they didn’t play on Friday. I know Siena’s metrics are awful this year but our metrics would also be awful if we didn’t have Fields, Leach, Seck, and Yetna available for various parts of the season as was the case while we were going 1-6 to start the season. A quick reminder that in the preseason the Field of 68’s Almanac picked Siena to win the MAAC, apparently assuming Durugordon would be available at the start of the season. It might be a closer game than the line would indicate if Siena is completely healthy.
Coming off the game against Q, Stags very underwhelming first half. Siena short handed but their 2 bigs are not allowing any easy buckets inside. We have to pick up things in 2nd half.
"In the first half, Siena did a good job of slowing us down," said Interim Head Coach Chris Casey. "But we were able to push the pace more after halftime, and we're in a situation where we have more guys than they do right now, and that helped us pull away. I thought we played great basketball in the second half."
Fairfield Men's Basketball is now (W3)(18-10)(12-5) with 3 (Marist, Canisius, MSM) MAAC Regular Season games left.
