If you have a 4500 seat arena sold out and only 3900 show up, you still have lots of empty seats.
4000-4500 probably would probably have been ideal longer term, but would not want to sacrifice another delay to get it. And for NOW, it's perfect. Lets hope this continues. You know there will be lean years.
I like the idea of the scarce ticket.
The future might drive the need for a bigger venue, but until then, I'm happy with a sold out Mahoney Arena--you snooze you lose!
You won't need it as long as we are still in the MAAC (Avg Attendance: 1842). -- And, at the mid major level for ANY conference we might move to, look at the average by conference: CAA - 2321 America East - 1257 Patriot - 1102 Even the A10 is only 4354 fs.ncaa.org/Docs/stats/m_basketball_RB/2024/Attend.pdf
I always go back to Cameron Indoor Arena at Duke which has been undersized for years (9300). It's a hot ticket and a great environment.
Let's enjoy the sell outs and hope they continue--the power schools are not coming in. They can buy wins and stay home.
Concerning the game itself yesterday, coming off that emotional victory on Friday night I myself expected a little bit of a letdown in the first half, and that is what happened. I never expected them to lose, especially since Siena was missing a couple of their most important players because of injury. Therefore it was only a matter of time before the Stags got their act together and started to dominate, and certainly the first 5 minutes of the second half indeed proved to be the knockout punch that enabled all of us to just relax and enjoy what was going on.
The Stags didn't really bring their energy or "A" game yesterday and they won going away. This team is way more talented that their opponent yesterday.
Hey Paulie74 I miss being able to get a ticket at the last second but I don't miss that cave in Bridgeport. All in all I think sellouts are great - never had to worry about them before. Think I'll try to get to Poughkeepsie on Friday - that should be no problem getting in. That is probably the hardest game left to play in the regular season.

I think its going to be a tough game. Mairst still very much in the hunt
McCann a much nicer place to watch a game than say the BZoo or RunBabyRun. Supposed to be reasonably warm so the walk a zillion miles from/to the parking shouldn't be too uncomfortable.
I don't know the Marist calendar but FU is on spring break from 3/2 to 3/10 according to the academic calendar.
Saturday-Sunday: Mar 2-10 --Spring Recess-All Schools --Friday: Tully Dining closes at 2pm;Residence Halls close at 6:30pm except students with evening classes/clinicalsSunday: --Residence Halls re-open at 12pm; Tully Dining re-opens at 4pm
Hope Marist is the same and kids are catching planes to FT Lauderdale.😂
