Selinger is out with a concussion. No time table for his return, but hopefully he can get himself healthy sooner than later.

If you are interested in Fairfield baseball, I'd recommend giving the podcast a listen. It's not as smooth as Huessler and Joe D with basketball, but understandable as the interviewers are students and generally did a nice job interviewing Currier and providing an update on the baseball team, which I appreciate.
If you don't have time to listen, here are the highlights:
- As mentioned above, Selinger is out with a concussion. - A lot of background on Currier, including his playing career and pre-Fairfield coaching career. He was drafted by the Phillies in the 6th round out of UVM, played MiLB for three years (mentioned that he played with Juan Samuel), and then got into coaching. - Jack Leggett, his coach at UVM who went on to Western Carolina and Clemson before retiring, was instrumental in Currier's career path. - He had no inkling that UVM was going to pull the plug on baseball (and softball) when it did. - Between UVM and FU, he spent a year as a volunteer assistant at Tennessee. - He missed out on the Bryant job before Fairfield. - Cautiously optimistic that FU might have another MLB'er in the near future. Austin Pope pitched well at AZ's AAA team last year and is with the team in Spring Training. - He mentioned McLoughlin has been doing well in the NYM system. - Pagliarini has been working out with the Stags and was asked to come to Spring Training earlier than most low level MiLBers, a good sign. - Defense has been the biggest issue early this season. Pitching has had its ups and downs...too many free passes (BB and HBP). - You don't just replace guys like Pagliarini and Becchetti (hitting .400 w/ 4 HRs at GTech so far), it takes more of a combined effort...he thinks the program is becoming deeper talent-wise. - While some coaches have pitchers throwing 100+ pitches early in the season, Currier prefers to build them up early...no FU P has thrown more than 80 pitches so far. - He thinks the team will be fine when we get into the more local part of the schedule.
