Terrible last possession. Give credit to Marist for taking us out of our game, but we killed our ourselves too. Couldn’t convert easy shots, missed FT’s, not getting defensive rebounds. Marist big guys had their way tonight.
Hopefully just a bad road game in a long season. Felt like the worst played MAAC game of the season and they were in it to the end.too much individual play tonight. Don’t like calling out individuals, so I won’t. Lot of sub par play tonight. Also, got outcoached. No big in the game at the end gave Marist a big O rebound.

We have three big guys. We just need one of them to break out in the tournament (and make a layup). Unfortunately the prospect of Yetna was more exciting than what he seems capable of right now. Leach was kind of out of it with credit to Marist. Sloppy all around to say the least

First, give credit to Marist. They play very hard, very physical, and really get after it on D. I would expect no less form a Dunne coached team.
And there will be nights when shots are not falling, even worse when paired with 8 missed FT's.
But this team has been the sum of its parts. And tonight too many Stags went stag to the dance. Way too much iso and hero ball. 8/11 assist/turnover ratio is awful. Lot of dribbling and little ball movement.
We needed a good night from the guards when there was no inside presence on offense or defense. Seck isn't strong enough, Smith is still too young and inexperienced and Yetna simply cannot get off the ground. We have been able to go small often this season with Bleechmore on the floor, but he was invisible tonight (1 rebound, 3 turnovers)
Finally, Chris and staff don't get a pass. The offense seemed disjointed all game, as there were no significant adjustments to Marist's ball pressure, and the last couple of offensive sets were terrible.
Marist controlled the pace of the game just where Dunne wanted it. ( 60 points) . We had a Jay Young type offensive performance, under 60 points and shooting poorly from 3 pt land. Tough road game to win . Marist played good defense and the crowd was into the game. Move on to Canisius and MSM and wrap up a championship. Go Stags!
I have been in sync with caseys thinking much of the season but tonight there are two things i would have done differently I dont call the second time out with 9 seconds left. Wr had positional advantage before the timeout I have yetna in the game in the final two minutes to board. The two offensive rebounds we gave up were worse than our missed free throws

We need at least 15 points from our collective centers in order to be in a position to win. Need to work on lob passes inside. Our opponents do that to us. I thought we failed to take advantage when we had them 6 fouls to our 3. Johns was not mobile; he needs to crank it up a notch. Not the usual hustle. They were in our faces on defense making even handoffs difficult but that should have opened up penetration and drives for kick outs. So often we would pass to the wrong side with our open man in the corner on the opposite side.

Johns just doesn't seem to see the game that well. Hence, repeated defensive lapses (when he is otherwise a good on the ball defender) and ill-advised shots out of the flow of the offense.
I thought last night it was Bleechmore who was missing his usual intensity and hustle and good work on the glass. He typically plays bigger than he is, and we need his contributions on defense and on the boards.
