I hate to call someone out (Ok, I don't hate it!), because I think this guy IS a good player, but Max Allen on the 2nd team is an all-time... huh?
Try and find his name in any top-25 statistical list for conference play. I dare you. I could only find him as 16th in FG% at a pretty pedestrian .473 for a big. Not scoring... rebounds... blocks... etc.

Feel bad for Caleb, certainly a first teamer in my book but there was no way they were going to put two Stags on the First team when we did not win the Conference. Frist Team is literally 1-5 in PPG leaders. Caleb finished the season as #6 in the MAAC but he is soooo much more than his PPG for this team.

Agree 100% with Typhaon. Max Allen over Brycen for second team ALL MAAC. RIDICULOUS! Jasper should have been a third team pick over Allen Powell who had a real down season after being a first team Preseason ALL MAAC first team. I believe Jalen with his outstanding performance on Saturday just nosed out Caleb for first team. The other 4 slots on first team were, IMO, well deserved.

puts up 40pts against Siena and 37 against Canisius and is THIRD team..!?!? Agree, too, with Caleb. Let's hope this gives a little extra motivation going into the Tourney....

Can make a strong case questioning why Dakota Leffew got First team over Caleb. Very similar stats but on a 13-18 team and played in less conference games.
The advanced metrics like O and D rtg and win shares seem to heavily favor Caleb as well.

Not a lot of emphasis on winning versus stats at times...Pecora gets the mens coach of the year...

Well first of all congratulations to our guys Jalen, Caleb and Brycen for being included on one of these lists. Also congrats to all the others too, although I have to agree with some who state that Allen is a surprise based on his stats alone if for no other reason. Anyway to not be included at all does not take away from how important Jasper in particular is to Fairfield nor does it mean Brycen or Caleb by not being picked at a level higher than expected weren't tremendous players for the team. If they feel slighted at all, perhaps that will lead to even better production in the tournament. In that vein I can't help but think back to 2018 when Tyler Nelson was beaten out for the POY award by Kahli Dukes of Niagara (ironically coached by Chris Casey). Tyler used that for motivation that year and averaged about 25 PPG plus about 4 assists and maybe 5 rebounds in helping the underdog Stags reach the final game. Same thing applies to Casey this year BTW. Steering the squad to the championship and an NCAA berth would more than make up for the fact that the coaches picked Pecora ahead of him, would it not?
These awards are so difficult. Someone always feels slighted.
I'm sure there needs to be balance among the teams.
Honestly, wish Jasper could have been recognized. Caleb easily belonged on the first team. He was more valuable than Leffew in that he lead a team challenging for #1 when predicted 6th. Not a PIG team.
Could have easily made Casey and Pecora Co=Coaches of the year. Both over performed and IMO, Casey was in the more difficult position.
Tough choices but unfortunately everybody doesn't get a trophy.
How many years did JoeStag post how important it was to have multiple All-MAAC players if you hope to win this thing. Now we have three and could easily have been four. It’s go time
