There appears to be a schedule change for the two game home and home series this week. Have not seen anything posted on twitter yet but our schedule on the web now shows it as a doubleheader at FU on Tuesday (1 PM and 3:30 PM) fairfieldstags.com/sports/baseball/schedule

This DH would be more interesting as a home and home with a game at each school.

This DH would be more interesting as a home and home with a game at each school. Totally disagree. Have you ever attended a game at the SHU home field? Just a horrible place to watch a game. There is not one place where you can see the entire field. Unfortunately, we'll have lots of home and home opportunities starting next year. SHU desperately needs a new baseball venue. IMO opinion, as a spectator, this is the best news we could receive.

They have been playing there for a few years now and didn't even have a scoreboard until the 2023 season! (Correct me if I am wrong about that). This is in stark contrast to SHU having one of the nicest softball facilities in the northeast. Where is title IX when you need it sacredheartpioneers.com/facilities/pioneer-park/12

Makes sense for a mid week, non conference game.

Makes sense for a mid week, non conference game. SHU actually has an overall winning record and (I believe) is currently in first place in the NEC. So this is an interesting pair of games for the Stags considering the town rivalry even though winning or losing in itself is not crucial one way or the other as far as helping or hurting NCAA tournament chances at the end of the season. Anyway with the sun out today, maybe there will be a good crowd on hand for the action. And of course for those comparing the venues and how much better it is to attend games at Fairfield rather than over at the Pioneer's ballpark, there's no comparison actually. Their setup is one of the worst for spectators in America (as you have so eloquently stated). But I do have to say in viewing the Sacred Heart schedule here and how this matchup with Fairfield is portrayed, one thing they got right (and maybe we should take notice) is the fact they list today's contests as taking place at Cook Field as opposed to the long drawn out way our home field is listed on our schedule. Anyway both Don Cook and his son will always be well thought of around here no matter how the name shows up on any schedule. In this case though, the Pioneer's presentation makes more sense than the Stags IMO.

Nice G1 7-6 walk-off win over SHU after being down 6-0. SHU entered the day with a #175 RPI rating and T1 in the NEC.
No Bergevin again today.
