The third-seeded Stags will play second-seeded #19 Delaware in the CAA Semifinals on Thursday, May 2 at 7 p.m. at Towson's Johnny Unitas Stadium. A really tall order for the stags to beat Delaware based on what I saw at the previous regular season meeting. I hope the stags can keep it close and maybe squeeze out a win. A blowout loss would be very disappointing.

There is a link on the Stags Lax schedule page to “LaxTV” in order to view the game tomorrow. Although not sure it is free?

I knew Johnny Unitas went to Louisville for college so in case anyone else is wondering why Towson named their lacrosse field for him, here’s some information from Wikipedia: On November 20, 1954, Unitas, at age 21, married his high school sweetheart Dorothy Hoelle. They lived in Towson, Maryland[43] and had five children before divorcing. Unitas's second wife was Sandra Lemon, whom he married on June 26, 1972. They had three children, lived in Baldwin,[44] and remained married until his death. Towson University, where Unitas was a major fund-raiser and which his children attended, named its football and lacrosse complex Johnny Unitas Stadium in recognition of both his football career and service to the university.[45]en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnny_Unitas

The opening statement posted on the stags web site game notes says it all to me about the status of the stags mens lax program. FF should be more competitive than this . “Fairfield University Men's Lacrosse makes its first CAA postseason appearance since 2016 on Thursday “. An upset victory or even a close loss would go a long way to turning things around. Good luck FF and Go Stags!

Stags lose in OT but played very well against a good Delaware team. Finishing 3rd in a good CAA league and playing Delaware tough is the kind of season that should be expected.

Tough loss but great end to the season. I sense some momentum to build upon.

Agree Stagophile… Tough, tough loss in OT. The Stags played great against #19 ranked Delaware. Led most of the 2nd. They were emotional at the end. Best Stag team in a while, so hats off to them. Congrats to the staff as well. Hearing some solid players coming in. Something to build on. Feel for the Stags that played their last game.

I think it’s time to get a new coach. Mediocre tenure. 3 of this years wins were against teams that were a combined 1-39. No wins vs teams with winning records. Loss to Sacred Heart.

Perhaps as mentioned time for a change of direction at the top spot? I think a finish this year in a non CAA playoff spot would have sealed the deal. However, finishing third and a very competitive playoff appearance may be enough to retain him.
