I'm a big proponent of adding a true center and not a power forward, but a player like Anton Grady of Cleveland State might change my mind. He just announced he's transferring and can play next season. A million post moves and can step out as well.

I think the Stags have what it takes right now to be competitive---but SJ is not going to play Malcolm major minutes and will play a broken Sidebe and a smaller Johnson----he also won't switch Nelson to the point so we will be stuck with Segura--problem is SJ does not know how to use his players and which ones to play major minutes---Smith, and Malcolm have great potential just can't show what they can do because SJ will not extend them---if SJ uses his newcomers that we have thus far and they live up to their billing and coaches better lol by using the right combination of players we will be better this year

Tend to agree with you Sobro after watching this tape. And his shooting, rebounding, block shots numbers, etc. suggest what you see on film is not a mirage. What is striking in this viewing is how he can convert baskets from isolation situations. But also, look at how wide open the perimeter players are on the outside as he moves to the basket and the opposition dives in to help. Imagine if (say) Tyler Nelson was one of those perimeter players! So hopefully there is some connection as this is certainly someone who could indeed be a difference maker.

I don't understand going after a 5th year big man. With Kirkland, Coleman, Gilbert and Sidibe all seniors, where is the playing time? Where is the depth for 16-17?

What would we do with Willie McGee? Anyone? Anyone?
But... seriously... he looks athletic and can apparently cut and dunk an alley-oop. At the very least, that's a skill that the above crew of question marks don't have. I doubt SJ's concern is about PT for seniors, it's about putting the very best team he can out on the floor for next season.
Gotta love 6'10" guys who average more 3 pt shot attempts per game than rebounds. Sounds like another soft front court player. Don't we have enough of those?

Would love a 5th year big, but only if he would become a DIFFERENCE MAKER. On paper at least, I don't think this would be the guy. You never know of course until he gets here (if they get him). Only thing I will say in defense of his small numbers is that he has basically played behind All-League (Am. East) big Jameel Warney for three years, thereby obviously limiting his playing time. But until proven otherwise, this would not be a move that would excite me at all if it happens. Sure wish instead that it was the Cleveland State kid (referred to earlier in this thread) who was the visitor!
As far as PG's who can shoot, Crew Ainge is still out there. Has published offers from UNC Greensboro (although they just signed a PG) and Binghamton. In addition, there was a published report that Duke was involved, so its anyone's guess. His ratings aren't great, but who cares. Take a look.
