An upper tier MAAC team should do well against a schedule like this one (at least 7-3).
I fear that if we can't win at least half of these games, it is going to be another very long season.
Last year the MAAC tourney champ Manhattan lost to MEAC's Hampton in the NCAAs opening round by 10 points. UMES finished ahead of Hampton in the MEAC regular season standings.
So I'm assuming you'd think the upper tier MAAC team would lose at UNC and at Northwestern --- which means they'd only lose one of the following games Yale (neutral),Columbia (home), and away with Bucknell & UMES. I'm thinking those are the next most difficult teams in the OOC schedule based on returning players, last season's records and preseason expectations.
I'd have to go with a split of those four to end up 6-4 instead of at least 7-3 for an upper tier MAAC team.
North Carolina and Northwestern would be difficult wins for any MAAC team to beat.
However the group of Bucknell, Yale, Columbia, and UMES are rated at the top of their leagues. And while they play in lower level leagues, those type of teams tend to be teams that would be in the top 5 in the MAAC. Going at least 2-2 against those 4 teams will tell us a lot about our team. This is normal schedule that most Mid Majors play. The only problem is that we have 3 tough games to start the season. We have to stay away from these tough early season games

We're staring 0-3 in the face, and it's unrealistic to think the Stags will win seven OOC games in a row. 6-4 would be an excellent record, but 5-5 or 4-6 seems more likely. Anything less and I suspect we're looking at another single-digit-win season.
However, a win over Yale would go a long way toward assuaging doubts about the team. Pressure will be through the roof if Fairfield is 0-3 heading into the Sacred Heart game.
Anyone know if Dartmouth and Wagner are home-and-home series or one-and-done money games?

Looks like the Stag-Yale contest will be the middle game of the Conn. 6 "Classic." Probably around 5:30 PM. No official word on Stag website (or Conn. 6 website for that matter), but one of other 4 schools lists an early start while another suggests a late one. You would think with less than 2 months to go before tip-off that the tournament would list "official" starting times, right?

According to this Dana O'Neil tweet, Julia Louis-Dreyfuss's son is on the Northwestern basketball team as a walk on. Perhaps Julia will be at the game on November 18th.
Dana O'Neil ESPN Senior Writer But can he dance like Elaine? Charlie Hall, son of Brad Hall and Julia Louis-Dreyfuss, has joined the Northwestern basketball team as a walk on. The 6-5 freshman forward has game, too. He averaged 15.3 points and 11 rebounds as a senior at the Crossroads School in Los Angeles. Dad and mom, a 7-time Emmy Award winner, are both Northwestern graduates.
Columbia's Maodo Lo and 4 UNC players are on this listing by Matt Norlander of the top 101 players in college basketball for the coming season as is Iona's English. Lo is the only Ivy League player on the list even though Yale's Justin Sears was selected by College Sports Madness as their preseason Ivy League player of the year. Columbia is one of the games that will be played in Alumni Hall this season.
