northwestern would be a great game to see. I visited Chicago a few years ago (first time) in the November time frame and it was a great city to see. Lots to do and see.
No date has been officially set for the game, but it will take place just prior to the other preliminary game, a home meeting against Columbia on Nov. 20. ....
Last season, NU was (15-17) and (6-12) in the BIG TEN and averaged 6,914 at home in their 8,117 seat welsh-Ryan Arena in Evanston, IL
A great opportunity for AR to have a Stag pre-game reception/ meeting place with the University's Chicago Alumni Chapter. Only 861 miles from Fairfield if you plan to drive.

Whenever in Chicago I have always found time to stop by Timothy O'Toole's Bar and Grill (off Ontario St. near the Lake). Didn't make the name up- it is not owned by our TOT, however I do believe there might have been a Stag gathering there years ago when he took the team to DePaul. Excellent sports bar for a gathering, food and drinks are great. HOWEVER, at certain times it may be packed. But just a thought, of course well in advance.

Well now, putting 2 & 2 together from info above, it looks like the first week of the Stags schedule is pretty much set in stone. First game, Conn. 6. Will it be on Friday, 11/13 or Sat., 11/14? If it's the latter, then of course that would set up the quick turnaround with little time to rest before the match with the Tar Heels, similar to Duke last year. Then the trip to Chicago, guessing Tuesday or Wednesday, considering Northwestern is announcing they are playing a game on the 20th, and also that the Stags game will be "just" prior to that. Makes the opener against Yale crucial of course if we want to get off to a decent start. And BTW Yale, while losing some key people from a very good team, still figure to be pretty good and perhaps an Ivy League contender again. Much tougher opponent that last year's opener against C. Conn. Next question to be answered, who, when and where of the other "tournament" teams will we be playing (Columbia, Wofford and UMES)? Will we get a home game as has been rumored? If so I would think that Columbia would make the most sense. But I imagine whatever happens here, at least one or more games will be played on the weekend of the 20th through the 22nd. Not an easy beginning for a team coming off back to back seven win seasons!

In most years, I would be excited to open with Yale, UNC and Northwestern. Not this year, though, because we are staring at 0-3. At best, the Stags will probably be chasing .500 all season. At worst ... well, I don't even want to think about that. I hope the remaining OOC games offer a more reasonable chance for victory. This season we need wins, period.
I bet Fairfield plays Maryland-Eastern Shore on the road. Prince Anne, Md., is 85 miles from Smyrna, Del., hometown of the Gilberts. UMES might serve as a "homecoming" game for the pair.

I would hope that the Sacred Heart game can be scheduled in the first week to 10 days. Not much travel by either team, so it would be able to be scheduled with only 1 off day between games. Currently the UNC and Northwestern games will make it difficult for an easy early season schedule
Article states that Cobb and JJ lead our recruiting class. Not a surprise for Cobb, but somewhat of a surprise for JJ .... as his career has had mixed results from Tenn to ND Prep.
"talented recruiting class led by Curtis Cobb and Jerry Johnson".

Fairfield University and Sacred Heart University have reached an agreement for their men’s and women’s basketball teams to renew their "Battle for Fairfield" series starting next season, on the weekend before Thanksgiving; Saturday, November 21, 2015 at the Webster Bank Arena...
So unless SHU and us agree to shift the date -- it looks like we're starting vs. Yale in CT-6, at UNC on the 15th, at Northwestern, and home vs SHU on the 21st. Depending on what day the CT-6 is played it's either 4 games in 9 days or 4 games in 8 days to start the season --- I would hope we're not trying to fit any more games into that opening week. Thanksgiving is the 26th this year and the first weekend in December is the 4th-6th when the MAAC normally schedules their opening league games for the season.

Central Connecticut has released their nonconference schedule and it's listing their CT-6 game against Hartford for Friday November 13th. So that makes our first three games:
Nov.13 Yale (CT-6) at CCSU Nov.15 at UNC Nov.18 at Northwestern
and according to nycbuckets' nonconference schedule tracker: the Sacred Heart game is Nov 21 which would be our home opener.
According to this post on the Bucknell message board, our game at Bucknell will be December 19th
