Even this far in advance, maybe there could be some arrangement between the school and the followers of the program to take over "The Prince" for a pregame gathering. Always enjoyed the time spent in that building!
Hopefully AR (and the Hartford and Boston Alumni Chapters) will step up next season with more pre-game/post game gatherings for away games (and home games too). Anything that reconnects or keeps our fellow alumni connected to Fairfield Athletics also keeps them connected to Fairfield University.
For those that didn't go to high school in Springfield:
ESPN recently ran an article on BC basketball (espn is probably as excited about the 12/21 game as we are):
Boston College achieved the wrong kind of perfection last season. Along with its football team going 0-8 in ACC play, it became the first Power 5 school to go winless in football and men’s basketball since TCU in 1976-77... the Eagles’ decline began shortly after they inexplicably forced Al Skinner out in 2010. The longest losing streak in Boston College history capped off its fifth straight losing season. The only other time that’s happened in program history was in the first five seasons of record, which began in 1904-05...
Besides the BC game, looks like we will have home games with SHU, Bucknell and Army, and away with Loyola and Dartmouth. Others pending.
Would the others pending be Wagner and Belmont? And 2 other games in the Barclay's tourney? Columbia, UMES, and Yale were part of tournaments, so I expect no return game.
Neutral Site ----------- Boston College at Springfield
If the team is projected to be stronger, we need at least two up teams on the schedule. Bucknell and Army are good but don't excite the average fan(neither do we). I'd like UMass. CAA and their recruit from Waterbury could help us get a home and home
Joe Stag, Thank you so much for this website. I enjoy it three times a day! I wanted to contact you personally about an issue but I do not know how to do so. It is about the word "neutral".Could you fix the spelling of the word neutral in this morning's post. Also could you fix neutral in the first page of this site. There is a heading "Nuetral OCC=> Yale also. Respectfully
Connor76, thanks for pointing that out. Just changed it in both places. Since I am more of a numbers guy than a spelling guy, I will now go and see how many times I missed spelled it, as compared to spelling it correctly
BTW, I was incorrect 14 times when trying to spell "neutral". I was correct 8 times. So that is a batting average .363 (8 of 22). That can win a lot of batting titles in Baseball.
I had to take Business Communications in my senior year at the University with retired teacher Harvey Gosley who actually gave us spelling tests and any words that were "misspelled" were back on the next test. I assume that Spelling 101 is no longer on the curriculum at the Dolan School of Business.

Actually, the thing that shocks me is the lack of quantitative course requirements at the Dolan School of Business. I was looking at the curriculum recently and I was surprised how "soft" it was. I believe the school is doing a disservice to its students by not developing the hard analytical skills needed to attract employers and to succeed in today's business world. I use my math and statistics skills on a daily basis and am thankful that I took my college courses in this area very seriously. If a finance major reached out to me, I would strongly advise them to double major in math.

In no way did I, nor do I, want to criticize a persons spelling. Have many times have we all sat in in-services or professional presentations and noticed misspellings and said nothing(which you should not do anyway), but thought to ourselves "how did this happen"? At no time did I think that the presenter was not intelligent. We all make mistakes. Don't ask me to spell "recieve/receive with 100% accuracy. There should be a proper way to inform someone about a misstep. Oh well, I've lost my focus. This is a site about BASKETBALL, not spelling!!

Looks like Enoch is staying at UCONN
It's all in good fun connor76. Just enjoying the opportunity to give the exulted JoeStag a little ribbing.

Belmont no. Too bad for me, would have loved a trip back to where I spent 7 years of my life. Wagner, though not mentioned, I think might have been a momentary slip of the mind from who I got the info from. Not sure one way or the other however. BTW playing BC is NOT part of any tournament but rather a single game on its own. Not sure if we will participate in any tourneys this season. Scheduling has gotten more difficult now since we are expected to be a much more formidable opponent than our perception the last couple of years.

Kind of agree. However it is not as easy as just snapping fingers to get what you want. And by playing "up teams," does that mean superpowers like last two years (NC, Duke) in money games without a return, or does it mean maybe A-10 or CAA type power who might come to Bridgeport in return? With the former, good for the pocketbook of the school and a recruiting tool but OTOH bad for the record. Latter I think we would like, but yet with the perception of improvement in our program, many teams won't want to come to Conn. Look at Monmouth, they bit the bullet, played (and DEFEATED) some high profiles, yet in the end it didn't get them an invite, and BTW they only were able to play ONE home game before January. Not too many Stag fans would be in favor of that I don't think.
