Scheduling is all about Egos. And the Egos change each year by the coaches and AD's. We have always wanted to play Holy Cross and Fordham each year, but depending on them its an on again and off again relationship.
I prefer to to play Big East and A-10 schools rather than ACC or Big 10. Xavier with Luke Murray, Villanova, UMASS or Rhody would be great for us instead of Duke or North Carolina or Louisville.
Playing a ranked team or not, does not matter to me.
You'd like to think that HC could be a go with Carmody at the helm. Plus, the Telegram gives them good coverage in one of New England's biggest cities, so it's good for us to have our name in the paper (even if the CT Post barely covers us). Considering there are four Jesuit schools from NYC to Maine, I think we ought to play each other and help create interest in one another. I'll keep dreaming for when the Catholic schools help one another haha.
I'm guessing that players, in general (but particularly these guys), enjoy the chance to challenge themselves against one or two of the top-ranked teams in the country. I think it's good for guys to get a taste of the 'next level,' too.
And... even if we did lose by 27 to UNC... don't some of those highlights look great in the end of season videos?
Besides the BC game, looks like we will have home games with SHU, Bucknell and Army, and away with Loyola and Dartmouth. Others pending.
Would the others pending be Wagner and Belmont? And 2 other games in the Barclay's tourney? Columbia, UMES, and Yale were part of tournaments, so I expect no return game.
