Just for the record I had a very unpleasant experience at the Leo during the Siena game. The "community" was seated to my left, 4 children roughly ages 10 -12 unchaperoned. They paid zero attention to the game. They probably got up and down, leaving their seats 20 times during the course of the game. I doubt that they knew they were at a basketball game. I doubt that they knew which teams were playing and under no circumstances did they know any players. So much for community engagement.
Sparks is a 6’ guard who played his freshman year at Mercer and last season at Indian Hills Community College in Iowa. He hit 42.9% on his 3s at Mercer and 41% from beyond the arc at Indian Hills this past season. He also averaged 3.7 assists per game at Indian Hills.

It most certainly could be about money for sure. Could be other reasons too. But regarding the basketball part of it and nothing else (which quite frankly I don't pretend to know anything about), actually the Mean Green as they are known have become a very strong program in recent years and they now play in the American Athletic Conference (the one UConn was recently in), a conference that is considered just a step below the top power ones in the country. Definitely stronger than the MAAC. That said, I, like you, would love it if Floyd reconsiders and comes back to play for the Stags. If you listen to the podcast that Chris Casey did last week, he sort of left open the possibility of at least one guy reconsidering and coming back here. My guess (and that's all it is) is that maybe it is Jasper who might be the guy he was talking about. In that case it might be down to NTS and Fairfield. But then again I really don't know anything for sure about his situation.
My biggest concern would be if he can fit in Casey's offense. Seemed like the ball used to stick in Supreme's hands and when the Stags were at their best, last year, the ball was moving quickly. As a forward... Smith seemed to have very promising skill in that area. I'd want more of that.

I believe many thought Supreme was going to go to Seton Hall last year until Cooley got him to go to Georgetown. Seton Hall has had several players enter the portal in the last week so it wouldn’t surprise me if Supreme heads back to New Jersey this time. Supreme likely received good NIL$$ at Georgetown but it probably wasn’t very enjoyable losing so many games, going 2-18 in Big East games. Plus, Supreme might feel that he would get recruited over as Georgetown is often mentioned as a school interested in the top transfers in the portal as Cooley really needs to add talent quickly to be competitive in the Big East.

Well said… Unless his passing from the post improved, I wouldn’t want back. Respect him, but think ball movement wasn’t great when he was here. Probably something to do with the people around him and coaching, too, though. Smith is a really good passer for a big.
