This one looks like a “maybe you should look for a new home..” situation. I’m sure Cooley is able to secure some highly talented players and he probably indicated to Cook that his playing time next season may be limited. It’s a tough business and that can lead to unfortunate circumstances…

This is an example of the negative side of transfer mania that many here have mentioned. Cook was used by Cooley as a short-term fix. He could have been in the Fairfield record books and all-MAAC, and maybe helped us to a more eventful post-season. He will soon be forgotten at Georgetown. Regardless, I hope his NIL stash lasts and he does well after college. Maybe Casey could have gotten more out of him.

I would take Cook back in a second. Sure, he stops the ball movement but that was also two years ago and at the time he was the primary scorer on the team. Last year we had elite shooting from the guards that will be difficult to replicate this season. We could use some interior scoring to offset that. Seck and Smith have to make a big jump next season to be scorers down low.

Are we assuming that NIL$ no longer matter to Supreme? Because unless Red Sea Rising suddenly has taken in a windfall, I doubt we’d be able to match what other teams are going to be offering someone who scored 10.5 points and 8 rebounds per game for a Big East team. Supreme might still have an emotional attachment to Fairfield, but it seems to me at this time most skilled players are making their decision based on a combination of NIL$ and playing time and we’re not in the same ballpark as the high majors when it comes to NIL$.

Supreme was an asset for Fairfield, and for that he should always be remembered and appreciated (IMO). That said, in his one year competing at the highest level he more than held his own even while performing for a lousy team. So with that in mind I'd be more than shocked if he were to return here or to any other mid-major program for that matter. With the two commitments yesterday including the big 6-10 guy from Bridgeport Prep, that leaves 4 open spots by my count still to be filled. I think big guards or wings with length plus maybe another PG thrown in will be the emphasis. The squad is starting to take shape now.
Can't imagine that he would come back. For all of his flaws (real or perceived) he did one thing that no one else on this current roster has shown they can do well. He got rebounds.
Familiar name back in the portal. Tafara Gapare was recruited by Fairfield and ended up at UMASS. Transferred to Georgia Tech after 1 season and is now back in the portal. Led the Jackets in Blocks, despite playing just 18.2 MPG.

Another guard on board. Looks very athletic and tough even if his statistics don't blow you away. Sort of like a "St. Peter's" (tough-minded) type player is my impression from watching this video. Anyway like with all the other new guys, I hope it works out well for both the kid and in turn the program. Go Stags!

Can the Prophet finally lead the long suffering stag fans to the promised NCAA land? Who knows! I like Johnson’s size at 6’-3” . From field a very respectable shooting percentage .408 , solid FT percentage of .778 . However, I am not enamored with .194 from 3pt land on 6/31 shots. That is not very good.

I was thinking the same thing, gives me hard-nosed Saint Peter’s guard vibes. I really like this get, looks like a high motor player.

Well I think the above post sums up how I feel. Good size but I am really not enamored with his 6/31 from deep, especially when you look under the covers two of his 6 makes were bank shots.
I think offensive efficiency is perhaps the most important factor in winning. This is a small sample size maybe this guy will prove to be a better shooter than these numbers. But they concern me.
