PG Tahj Staveskie of Canisius is in the portal. Really liked the way this kid handled himself. Seems like a real dog on the court. Injuries sidelined him this year, but he will be a great get for some team.
Interesting that at least 3 Canisius players have quickly entered the transfer portal probably because Reggie Witherspoon their coach was fired. I think in the future schools will need to think twice about firing a coach because they could easily loose all their players and set their program back. Then again a New Coach with good contacts could rebuild a program quickly because of the portal. A real crap shoot.!

I think its going to be a full time job keeping up with the portal. It seems like the Mount, Canisius and Iona all have 4 or more players who have announced departures already.
This player, who I understand is D2, is an interesting one:
It could happen, but I think the coaching landscape in women's basketball is a little different. All signs point to the Stags being even better and an administration that is fully behind the program. We'll see... but I think they are building something.
Sometimes the job/opportunity you want is not available right away. Good thing is now, FU is a great place to stay at. Admin and community behind the program, new arena, great part of the country to recruit in…. I think CTD is a very smart, strategic coach/person. She is not going to jump just for anything. Also, she & staff are building something special here. There is a like of gratification in that!

The new system is what it is for EVERYONE and the ones who handle it best will be the most successful, so there's no use complaining about it but rather going to work to beat the competition. I'm sure Casey will do a good job in replacing whomever leaves (plus the graduating players), surely helped by the success of this past year as well as the fact that he has a great school and athletic facilities to sell to the type of student-athlete he needs to continue in the right direction. This spring should be interesting to watch around here and certainly will keep us all active on this forum. Like other sports such as the NFL in particular, college basketball does not end when all the games are over, and maybe from an interested fan's perspective, that's not such a bad thing.
6’8” BU senior Ant Morales has us, Iona, and Siena in the MAAC on the list of schools that have expressed an interest in him. With 10.9ppg he was BU’s leading scorer last season, hitting 38% on his 3s and 89% of his free throws. He was born and played his prep ball in the Boston area.
