Thanks I see that now. Emily Adams from Connecticut did not rank us. Kind of disappointing for a local writer not to throw a little lover our way. I think if they just keeping winning the recognition will come.

I know Emily is now a "local reporter" but she started with the Courant in January after covering South Carolina for a paper in SC I'll have to email her a map of Connecticut She has Southern Miss (16-11, 10-7 in the Sun Belt) ranked 25th. They're 133 in the NET rankings. The good news is that after learning that information, I care a lot less about validation coming from 35 people when the group includes people like that.

I think this team is a bit like the 2021 baseball team. They were scoffed at a bit because of the gaudy record against the MAAC... but I do think if the women get into the NCAA tournament and can play against a team(s) that doesn't physically dominate them inside (similar to how Arizona State was talented... but didn't have much pitching)... they can certainly pull out a victory or two and quiet skeptics.

I agree. I do look at the size of some of these ACC and Big 12 players and they do create a match-up problem for the Stags. On both the Men's and women's side, for the Stags to advance they are going to need to hit a high percentage of their shots from deep. Something that they can clearly do, but a cold shooting night usually dooms teams like the Stags. I'd love to see both teams work into their playbook some back door cuts like the princeton ran. I remember in their upset wins in the tournament they repeatedly burned larger teams with some of those quickness plays. Players like Nellie on the women's side and Jalen on the mens side have the quickness to consistently cash in on those kind of plays.

UPDATED: Here are the games this week that could affect a team remaining in the top 25.
The games Bold/Red are the ones that could knock a team out of the top 25. The Games in Bold/Blue are games that are probably keeping a team in the top 25.
Tuesday No. 23 Creighton (22-4) vs. Xavier (1-24), 7 p.m. No. 24 West Virginia (22-5) at Oklahoma St. (13-14), 7:30 p.m. Wednesday No. 24 UNLV (24-2) vs. Boise St. (19-9), 9:30 p.m. Thursday No. 22 Louisville (22-7) vs. Florida St. (20-8), 8 p.m. Saturday No. 20 Oklahoma (20-7) at Kansas (16-11), 5 p.m. | Oklahoma beat number 3 texas, they likely aren't falling out now No. 24 West Virginia (22-5) vs. TCU (18-9), 1 p.m. | win or lose they are very vulnerable No. 24 UNLV (24-2) vs. San Diego St. (18-10), 5 p.m. | vulnerable with a loss Sunday No. 17 Notre Dame (21-6) vs. No. 22 Louisville (22-7), 2 p.m. | with their early win this week I think they hang on.

Hopefully enough occurred with the lower teams on the AP 25 that two wins for us, the second one being a 24 point road victory, will get us onto the AP 25 on Monday.

West Virginia defeated TCU today, 57-49, to stop its three-game losing streak. UNLV ran SDSU out of the building, 100-41, and Kansas beat Oklahoma, 83-74. But as noted, the Sooners will probably survive. Anyway, here's hoping Fairfield jumps WVU on Monday.

Unless Creighton loses to Seton Hall tomorrow it is the Stags vs. WVU for the final spot. We did everything possible to get there. Fingers crossed this season gets recognized by the AP on Monday.

I had trouble believing this but you are right. How stupid is that vote. She had to mean ole Miss and voted for the wrong school, right? Southern Miss lost their 12th game Friday night. Surely she can be voting for them again this week. Or can she?

It has to be Ole Miss - because Southern Miss received no and Ole Miss received 1.

The team created a resume to show their qualifications for the Top 25.
