This will be the 1st match-up between the Fairfield Stags and the Chicago State Cougars. The Stags however have faced Cougars in the past playin even overall against the Cougars (2-2), beating Concordia(1-0) and Medgar Evers(1-0) while losing 2 contests to Houston (0-2).

SCHOOL HISTORY
Founded in 1867, Chicago State holds the distinction of being the sole four-year Predominantly Black Institution (PBI) in Illinois. Chicago State's Division I history traces back to the 1984-85 academic year. Over the years, the Cougars have competed in various conferences, including the East Coast Conference (1993-94), Mid-Continent Conference (1994-06), Great West Conference (2009-13) and Western Athletic Conference (2013-22). For the past two years, CSU has operated as an independent institution but will begin a full schedule as part of the NEC next season. Chicago State will apply to join the MAAC following their NEC season, as most NEC schools do……
