Not so fast on the contract thing. And what happens if grennan and davis stay.they keep their scholarships.there goes 2 free rides you were handing out trying to run 2 or more players out Anyone here have a count as to the amount of players that have been pushed or left since the circus came to town. Much can happen yet.

If they stay and are off the team, they don't receive an athletic scholarship (annual renewal). I don't know their financial wherewithal to know if that's a possibility (staying).
The whole situation smells to high heaven. Shameful and embarrassing. I see Gene starting to tap dance.
If these guys were bad-mouthing Sydney and undermining the team, then maybe, possibly, there was a reason for some discipline. But the punishment does not appear to fit the situation as far as what we know to date.
It is very likely that we will improve next year. Just like it was very likely that we were going to struggle this year with entirely new guards. The question is how much will we improve? It’s reasonable to think that we will be in battle for a top 5 seeding. But it’s also reasonable to think that our backcourt will not be at the level of a Needham-Wade-Nickerson.
What is the most important, is that we can reload our talent level. The roster will be different. Since nothing has changed as far as Grennan and Davis, it is likely their scholarship would go to a StevieJ, a JUCO or a 5th year senior. We need those players plus our 4 recruited frosh to be much better than the recruited classes from the last 4 years. We need 1 of them to be a “Special Guard” to get us to mid-pack, and if 2 of the players can become “special players” than we can get back to the Championship game or Semi’s with a top 5 finish.
Sydney has to prove he can recruit those type of players, if he does, they has already proved he can get to the NCAA’s, the MAAC championship game and Win big games.
For the record grennan and davis have been quite and respectful they remain in good standing with the school.not a derogatory word to the coaches and remain supportive to the team .they have represented fairfield better than the coaches..they remain in limbo and they have done nothing wrong stop spreading the hate.

I would like someone out there to provide a justification for not giving Stevie Johnston a full scholarship if one is available when he has been more productive than most of our guards. It is shameful that the coaches continue to dispense scholarships to unproven players while ignoring him. The first available scholarship should be his and not be offered to anyone else including a Juco. Coaches, let's demonstrate that you are grateful for his contribution. Can anyone shed any light on his situation?
Runningman, I applaud your devotion and sense of fair play with Steve Johnston. However, maintaining the status quo with our current players will get you 7 or 8 wins. Mistakes have been made with player evaluations for sure. But that is no reason to live with those mistakes for 4 years. We are no different than many other programs in that regard. If player evaluations remain poor, Sydney will suffer the consequences. It is good that he has recognized the problem and is trying to fix it. P.S. You don't know the full story with Grennan and Davis; Steve Johnston did have a full scholarship this year.
As Rave said StevieJ, did have a scholarship this year. And that was public knowledge. I was hoping that Grennan or Davis would be able to re-join the team this year, but since that has not happened, they are on the bottom of the depth chart, with no signs of that changing. StevieJ will be in competition for a scholarship next year, but the key work here is competition...... it all depends what our roster looks like. Final decisions on renewal of scholarships do not have to be made until June 30th.
My guess is that the majority of the players will be back, but we have been on a pace of 2 players a year that either leave or go to prep school, and that has been going on for quite some time. Its like that at all schools, that is why there are so many more transfers.

I have been waiting for next year since I graduated from FU years ago and I get a few seasons that looked like we are going to be a consistent mid-major only to be frustrated time after time. The administration is wearing me out and if they don't watch it I am going to stop caring about our program just like them!!!
Join the club re the administration.............the fish stinks from the head............that's what FU has going on...........Ed Cooley was a blip on the radar in lifting us above the "Stink" for a few years, but now we're back into the Fulton Market aftermath............sushi, anyone?
