Another seldom used PG with 3 years of eligibility in the portal - Marcus Dockery from Maryland.
I don't know much about Marcus or Maryland but I believe he was playing behind a 32 minute a game guy. So he might be he is a good player behind someone great. Hard to know. Wonder if TerpStag has any insignt:
IMO, Fairfield doesn't have time to wait on a transfer who has to sit a year. If they're eligible and fit the bill, have at it, especially if its an experienced guard. If you didn't already know it, after what we saw this weekend, you cannot have too many athletic guards.
I don't think anybody has to sit a year under the new NCAA rules.

In the latest move from college sports to rectify its archaic policies, the NCAA Division I Council approved a long-awaited measure Wednesday to grant all players the ability to transfer once in their careers and be immediately eligible, sources tell Sports Illustrated.
The new transfer rule ... has far-reaching ramifications and unintended consequences that worry those at the top of the sport. Many coaches plan to alter their recruiting strategy, relying so heavily on transfers that it adversely impacts high school recruits, creates an uptick in poaching other college players and sets off a trickle-down effect that could widen the gap between bluebloods and the lower rungs of sports, specifically football.
By the way, the number of transfers is exploding again. Nearly 600 so far, and it's still March.

Does this affect JUCO transfers who got to a Division 1 school and then look to transfer? If not, perhaps Fairfield should visit the "Deng" portal. PG Deng Dut is listed as a sophomore, but played 2 seasons at Southern Idaho JUCO before spending this past season at Wyoming, where he barely saw any time. IMO, this is the type of guard Fairfield needs; a long PG with great acceleration, who facilitates, defends, and has great court awareness. At Southern Idaho, Deng averaged 14.8 ppg, 5.5. rebs, 5.2 assists, FG 52.3%, 3PT 51.2 % FT 84%. Certainly fun to watch.
