Listed as #11 in New Hampshire NERR (includes all prep and public schools remember) and # 44 in New England class of 2020. Also, and this may be important, he is listed as a combo guard rather than just a point. With Caleb Green running the show as a PG for two years, guards who can supplement and do a lot of things would really help, and at face value this looks like a type of player who would do just that.

Scrolling down his Tweeter feed, I see that he has additional offers from Iona, UMass Lowell, New Hampshire, Robert Morris, Boston University and Brown.
Well the video you have posted shows him performing as a freshman at Bergen Catholic, I'm sure on the freshman team as opposed to the varsity based on the lack of people in the stands. And considering it is labeled as 2016 highlights and that is the year Taj was playing there as a senior, then yes absolutely I'm sure they know each other. Hopefully that could make a difference here. BTW in an article posted just today on the NERR website, Leach was the star of the show in what they call a "showcase" game up in Worcester based on him scoring 43 points in an overtime win against a strong opponent. Never watched him play, but I think I would be excited if he were to become a Stag!
Excited to welcome Jalen Leach to the Stags Family! #WeAreStags
“We think very highly of Jalen as a player and person. His versatility on the offensive end will be a great addition while off the court he epitomizes what we value in a student-athlete!” -Head Coach Jay Young

For what it's worth, it looks like Jalen has moved up to a final ranking of #28 on the NERR list. Not sure how or why he could move up so much in the last couple of months considering (supposedly) there hasn't been any organized action on the court, but anyway, 28 sounds and looks better than 44, so that's a positive development no matter how you look at it I think.
Higher HS ranking is nice and should be an early indicator of his potential in a stag uniform. However that is all the ranking is good for to measure potential. Let’s see how he performs on the court during his frosh year to determine if the potential and ranking were meaningful.

Here is the latest highlight video of JL. He is a very smooth player and appears to be getting stronger. He seems to have a knack for adjusting after taking contact on the way to the basket.

7 months ago Jalen Leach was ranked 27th in New England by this website. This ranking gives some good details on why they feel he is worthy of 28. Looks like he is Multi-Talented.
27. G Jalen Leach 6″4 185lbs Tilton School/ New Hampshire Strengths: Dynamic scorer who can create off the bounce that is elite ball handler. Has excellent speed and quickness in transition and isn’t afraid to go vertical put down a flush. Capable defender that can make impact blocks and steals on occasion.
Weaknesses: Defensive effort comes and goes at times. Definitely high level offensive scorer but can focus on going 1 on 1 a bit too much and can be ball dominate.

Again, ratings are ratings and ultimately take a backseat to actual performance once a kid arrives on campus, but what I like here is that this is a different website than NERR, therefore the closeness in numbers between the two sites should serve as to confirm they both feel he will be pretty good. BTW it will be interesting to compare how Jalen performs throughout his college career relative to the #37 player listed, that being Mehki Gray, the reason being it was he who we thought we might get in the early signing period but ultimately signed at NJIT. If we had secured Mehki, I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have heard of Leach. Also another comparison, #39 Marty Silvera, another we recruited after losing Gray. He is going to St. Peter's BTW. Fun sidelights to keep an eye on in the coming years.
