Like picking ice cream, how many flavors does Ferron want? Fairfield, Cal Baptist, Ok State and now someone else (not to mention a JC school initially), certainly he has become a symbol of the transparency that so many of these athletes are going through from year to year (for better or worse). Anyway all kidding aside, I hope first of all that Flavors gets a meaningful degree and second, he gets back with a program that needs his services more than the Cowboys who obviously had studs ahead of him on the depth chart. It's interesting to follow his career though, don't you think?
Next stop ... Pittsburgh, PA. Ferron Flavors will be finishing (I assume) his college career at Robert Morris. Certainly one of the most travelled players in college basketball history.
Many in this thread were wondering where Flavors stood with regards to getting a degree. The article below mentions that he received his degree in business finance from California Baptist, a masters degree in recreational management at Oklahoma State, and will be working on a second masters in business leadership at Robert Morris. Good for him.
As an aside, he will likely become a 1,000 point scorer in D-1 this season. Makes you wonder how many school records will be broken in college basketball this year with players being able to play for 5 seasons?

Yeah it's absolutely good for him as far as his getting the two degrees with maybe a third on the horizon. How many guys can say they have accomplished that and also had a pretty good career playing the sport they love? And from reading this article it sounds as though Ferron has his feet firmly planted on the ground without any thoughts of grandeur based on his acknowledging a post career life where his education will have played a major part of who he is. So I hope he has a great season at RM and lands a pro job somewhere around the world after his eligibility is finally complete next season.

Yes, I would think many records are going to fall this season for this reason. For the Stags, not sure many career records will be broken but Benning will have an extra year to become a 1000 point scorer and Jesus Cruz will also have a chance to move well up the leader board in many categories. Barring an injury Cruz should shatter the games played record at Fairfield: Career Leaders Games played 1. Colin Nickerson, 2009-10 to 2012-13 138 2. Maurice Barrow, 2010-11 to 2013-14 137 3. Ryan Olander, 2008-09 to 2011-12 136 4. Derek Needham, 2009-10 to 2012-13 131 5. Jonathan Kasibabu, 2015-16 to 2018-19 127 Marcus Gilbert, 2012-13 to 2015-16 127 Tyler Nelson, 2014-15 to 2017-18 127 8. Jesus Cruz, 2017-18 to 2020-21 123

In that vein, Jesus Cruz (1,180) needs 482 points to pass Marcus Gilbert (1,661) and take over the fifth spot on the all-time points list. Jesus won't be the focus of the offense, so there's little chance of that happening. Cruz scored 353 points as a junior, his best year. But he will certainly crash the top 10 if he stays healthy. George Groom is No. 10, with 1,486 points. Terrence Todd is ninth (1,530).

Looks like the crack staff of the Early Edition Game Notes will be particularly busy this coming season!
Surprised to see Jalanni White is on the roster for Penn State this coming season. Can honestly say from watching him play for Canisius, I never once thought— White belongs on a Big Ten team roster. White will join Pickett, from Siena, on the Penn State roster.

Oklahoma State is banned from postseason play this season, so it seems like Flavors made a wise decision to transfer away from there. I’m not totally clear on what the infraction at Oklahoma State was, but it seems to be something that occurred while the current players on this year’s team were in middle school. Read that former Georgia Tech coach Bobby Cremins was one of the members of the NCAA Infractions Committee that ruled for the postseason ban for OK State. My curiosity was piqued, so I googled the Infractions Committee and found out that MAAC Commissioner Ensor is a member of the committee.

Glancing at national leaders tonight and noticed Jalen Pickett is 5th in the nation in assists per game at Penn State.
