Missed their last 15 3Ps (I'll count the one at the end for misery's purpose). I know the announcer was harping on good/bad shots and all... but whenever the shots were being taken - you just have to make more. Fairfield didn't and we all wait until next year.🙄
* Oh - I ran the math. If you assume Fairfield are 35% 3P shooters on each shot (they shot 37% for the season), the chances of missing 14 in a row are 1 in 4167.
This really sucks, but I want to be the first to say it was great to finally have meaningful basketball back at Fairfield. Hope it continues.

This really felt like everything was aligning. Even with the women’s comeback leading into the game. Literally all we needed was 2-14 from 3 and we win. Sigh.
We couldn't make our threes the entire tournament. Even Goodine, a 49% shooter from behind the arc missed two straight wide-open shots in the second half. We showed our pride and grit by coming back from 9 down with a chance to tie but couldn't get over the hump. I have nothing but good feelings about this team from the coaches to the players. They were fun to watch and played hard every minute of every game. They have nothing to hang their heads about. Go Stags!

My heart is broken. So many uncharacteristic things we did in the second half.
After a great defensive effort the first 20 minutes, the intensity wasn't there at the start of the second half. SPU got some offense going, got confident and then just started making everything for a long stretch. By the time we got our equilibrium back,it wasn't quite enough.
They got the lead and we started rushing and forcing shots on the offensive end. And when we had good looks we couldn't knock them down. Don't know if it was the rims, the backdrop, the balls, whatever. But for three games in AC we not only didn't shoot 3's at a season long percentage, we flat out shot very poorly.
I really, really enjoyed watching this team all season (and sharing my thoughts with fellow Stag fanatics on this board). It is crushing that they bow out on the verge of hearing their school's name on Selection Sunday. And certainly bowed out playing nowhere near their best.

Picked a bad time for the entire team to go cold from deep. 38.0% coming in. 19.7% in Atlantic City. Managed to win the first two despite that. Caught up with them tonight.
We finally had a very good season after many years of misery, hopefully Casey gets some good recruits for the future! Wish those who leave the best in their futures, especially Caleb Fields. He's been quite the warrior and a pleasure to watch play. Wonder if we have a chance to get into the NIT or other tourney?
