IMO, zero chance. If any MAAC team gets an invite, it would be QU as the league champ. Then again, they also might find themselves on the outside looking in based on the new NIT proclamation that conference champs who don't make the Big Dance aren't an automatic invite anymore. This is yet another attempt by the NCAA (the NIT overlords) to exclude the smaller schools from earning a piece of the pie.
I think Casey needs to find out today what the plans of the key underclassmen on this team are. I only see two reasons to play in a pay to play postseason tournament. 1. Everyone (or the vast majority of those who played major minutes) want to play more games. 2. If Floyd, Seck, and Peyton all assure Casey they’ll be at Fairfield next season. More game action for Seck and Peyton would be beneficial for them. Seck in particular needs to get used to rebounding strong and converting passes and rebounds into baskets. Floyd also needs to find the speed that Seck can handle his feeds. Oftentimes this season on a drive, Floyd would throw a Nolan Ryan speed pass to Seck who wasn’t even expecting the pass.
As others have pointed out, we’re not getting a NIT bid. So much about next year depends on what happens in the portal. But as far as the school paying to play more games, other than the two scenarios I’ve mentioned—-I don’t see much benefit to entering those tournaments.
Edit: Just saw the below tweet. If we do play in either the CBI or CIT — we’d always be on the road as maintenance work is being done to the floor in Mahoney so the viewing party for the women’s selection show is taking place in Dolan.

We should get an NIT bid , but probably will not . I can only imagine how great we could have been if Cook and AJR stayed, even Midoh ! We needed a power forward and Center , oh well such is life .. maybe had we got rid of Young earlier , they would have stayed … does anyone know how these 3 guys that left us did this year ?
This could be the last year of the NIT tournament, FOX Sports is organizing a 16 team tourney with Big East, Big 12 and Big Ten schools left out of the NCAA's that will begin in 2025. The NCAA was forced to eliminate mid-majors from the NIT starting this year to be more competitive with this new event, but even NIT organizers concede it still might not be enough to survive.

Not sure about them, but saw TJ Long start and help Vermont gain another auto bid to the Big Dance. 14 points playing 24 minutes.
IMO, these tournaments will fold, as well. Colleges don't want to pay to play and for the players, it may interfere with the transfer process.
agreed, sad, I feel like the 68 teams plus another 32 team tourney is a great way to reward the top 100 teams, and it does suck for the mid conferences...
It look like the game may be on something called Flohoops. Is that another subscription service?
Yes. I watched the evansville game on flosports last year and you had to subscribe for a monthly plan. Then they made it very difficult to cancel. It was such a scam.
Also the broadcast quality was very poor. I imagine it will be better for this tournament though. Lets hope.
The semi finals and finals are on the ESPN network.
