I would want to know principally about recruiting...are we adding better players be they transfers, post-grads, JUCOs or recent grads the level of Nelson. And if we are, I would keep our coach because he can win with talent.

We have no scholarships available, He will have to run off kids-so will the next guy. The next guy won't be running off his guys though.
Ghost, we have one scholarship available apparently with Stevie leaving as far as I know. Right now it looks as if Nolan will be redshirting next year per their earlier agreement, but I hope that will change. Keep in mind that SJ has offered dozens for that scholarship, and that Mike Rodriguez will make his decision perhaps later in March.
Just said, even with that, let's not call it a business cause it's not.
IMO, even at this low Mid-Major Division 1 level, it most definitely is a business. Anyone agree or disagree?
Unfortunately, D1 Athletics has become a business. My experience with FU: -- Mediocrity is rewarded, no accountability, sloppy attention to detail, territorial CYA culture
Businesses in the U.S. used to run this way: -- Protecting likable employees or your pals -- Reward system based on relationships rather than performance. -- No team culture or ownership. Departmental protectionism. Not our job attitude. -- Make short term profits without regard to quality, customer satisfaction or productivity. -- Long term vision was secondary. -- No global competition
Then something happened. The Japanese, Koreans and other global competitors started doing things a bit differently. Quality, productivity, accountability and customer satisfaction were paramount.
Well college sports and academia in general are late to this thinking, but those who adapted early are finding growth and success.
IMO, FU is managing this "business" in 2015 with a 1950's mentality.
Certainly Fairfield is running the university and athletics as a Business. But you must remember that Fairfield's Business is Academics, with Athletics being an important part of that. And Basketball being the most important part of Athletics. And you want to rank our basketball program as a business, then one can easily say that we can rank high as our attendance is consistently #2 in the MAAC, or we pay top dollar in the MAAC for coaches, or we are in consideration for higher leagues, or hosting MAAC Tournies and NIT's. But those are not what we want to be measured on:
Basketball is measured on W-l's and getting the the NCAA's
So does that means that Iona Has the most Vision, they run it best as a Business..... I think not. I think they have 1-2 coaches that have recruited the best performers, the best players ...... as simple as that. Its as simple as them getting Momo, Glover and all the other All-MAAC, POY candidates

Getting the guys who can get the guys is the most important piece of the business. Iona has smoked us in that regard.
Just look at what Frager did this year with a young and inexperienced squad. Third in the MAAC.
Frager has done a great job year to year with different players, but he has always had an Experienced backcourt (Soph thru Seniors). A team can win with an inexperienced frontcourt, but not when that inexperience happens at both or all 3 guards positions. So Frager has done a great job transisioning from Pina to Dacruz, and Linney to Vazquez to Schlatzein.
Our men's team won 19 games with a fairly in experienced froncourt when Amadou, Miculic, Marcus and Coleman were frosh and played a lot of minutes upfront. However, these last 2 seasons, we have played with Freshman guards and that is not a recipe for success unless those Guards are named Needham, Han or Todd. Those recruiting woes have been well documented. And now we are sitting with an unstable backcourt for our future..... except for Nelson.

So let me get this straight stag 79. You would not make a coaching change decision until mid April when you can analyze who we have recruited. In 4 years this guy has recruited 2 players who could be considered good D1 players. What makes you think that he is going to bring in this mother lode of top recruits this year? Are you delusional or related?
If Marist beats Rider, then Marist is the 10th seed and we are 11th seed..... because they have beat #2 Rider for Tie-breaker If Marist loses, then we are 10th seed.... because we have beat Manahattan for Tie-breaker
If Siena wins @monmouth, and St Peters loses to Iona, then Siena is 7th seed, SPU 8th seed All other scenarios.... then SPU is 7th seed, Siena is 8th seed
#8 vs. #9 at 5:00 pm #7 vs. #10 at 7:00 pm #6 vs. #11 at 9:00 pm
So it looks like our game vs Niagara means nothing for the seedings. The best scenario is for us to play in #7 vs #10 game at 7PM vs St Peters. For that to happen:
Marist needs to lose to Rider .......... and .......... (Siena loses @monmouth, OR SPU beats Iona)
Marist loses and SPU wins ...... So we get our wish ....7pm game vs SPU at 7pm
