Bonzie Colson was on that team -- played for Notre Dame last night.
There were two starters and Colson for ND from MA. NC State also had a pivotal freshman starter Abu from Boston. And Niang from Lawrence at Iowa State could be an NBA draft pick. It is amazing the number of talented player coming out of MA lately. What is more interesting is that BC is nowhere to be found in recruiting this talent! Hard times at the Heights.

We have talent, in the preps and in MIAA. BC, UMass, HC, etc don't do a good job of holding on to the local talent. ND has three rotation players in auguste, colson, and connaughton, NC State has abu, Maryland has layman, URI has terrell, and so on. I hope they keep recruiting this area and I would be happy to see more local kids helping my alma mater. I can't say anything about cobb though, because I know the guys in the MIAA primarily.
Fairfield gets a late steal with @wma_Basketball & @rivalsnation G Curtis Cobb. Smooth scorer will make immediate impact.
Had offers from Providence, UCONN, Temple and LaSalle. Now this is the kind of recruit, a possible program changer, that we have been lacking over the last few years. Kudos to Syd for reeling this guy in. Welcome Curtis. GO STAGS!
Don't want to get ahead of myself, but this kid looks LEGIT. Long frame... Smooth shooter... Love the fact that he has played with Tyler before. Chatter on UCONN board that this is a good get for us. All about player development now.
I know early/hard to tell what Curtis will be like in MAAC, but all current evidence makes this look like a BIG pickup. Congrats, Syd and WELCOME Curtis!!!
Really good get, congrats to Coach Johnson and his...just Coach Johnson, I guess. I'm still worried about us getting killed up front. Who is playing in the pivot/helping us control the glass? Our season could depend on Amadou's knees.
Wilbraham & Monson 67 Kent 59 A well-played game by both teams entertained the crowd while simultaneously allowing multiple players on both teams to impress the college coaches in attendance. Curtis Cobb continued to perform at a high level, scoring a team high 19 points for the Titans
Wilbraham & Monson 82 Mt. Zion Prep 72 With four different players fouling out, WMA was forced to go deep into their bench and ultimately the back-breaking bucket came from an unlikely tandem as Nico Cotto set-up Max Alpert. Curtis Cobb was the star though, going for 30 points and 7 rebounds and even handling most of the ball-handling responsibilities down the stretch.
Wilbraham & Monson swingman Curtis Cobb continues to hold down the third spot and is a guy who could see increased recruitment throughout his senior season as he appears to be one of the few high level players in the region who is truly wide open in the process.
Saturday’s action began with a 70-42 lashing of the Michigan Mustangs behind 15 points from Jalen Adams and Curtis Cobb alike. Later that afternoon it was a 71-67 win over NW Panthers as Pettway, Adams, and Cobb all finished in double figures again. Adams had his best performance of the weekend in the nightcap, going for 21 points and 10 assists, while Cobb added 18 points. Josh Sharma also came alive in this one, finishing with a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds, along with 4 blocks as the Rivals beat MBA Hoops 82-61. The Rivals punctuated their weekend with a 66-50 win over New Orleans Elite in a game in which 10 different players saw double digit minutes. Sharma had 14 points on 7-8 shooting from the floor, along with 4 blocks, in just 20 minutes of action, while Adams scored 11 points and handed out 6 assists (against no turnovers) while playing the point guard position. Cobb also finished in double figures for the fourth consecutive game with 11 points. Cobb reportedly heard from Butler, Creighton, Rice, Richmond, and St. John's.
Players who stood out: Curtis Cobb (Mass Rivals): Even on a Rivals team stacked with guard talent, Cobb stood out in both games on Saturday. He always seems to play within the flow the game and quietly dominates the game on the offensive end.
IMO, this last comment really is exciting..... as he stood out on an AAU team that is stacked with talent. Many players standout on their HS team, but to do that for a top flight AAU team is exciting.

We've all said on this board that the MAAC is a guard driven league. Between Tyler and now Cobb it would appear that we'll have two very good ones going forward. Whether Segura can develop into the 3rd piece or we can find another point guard will be really important going forward.
