The measuring stick that I am using for Curtis Cobb is that he is a better 3G than Marcus..... not necessarily a better player than Marcus, but better than Marcus, so that it forces us to go with a multi-talented, guard like player at the the 3. And then Marcus splits time at the PF and SF position.
Cobb looks like he has good size.
BTW, I saw a full game video of Jerry Johnson where he played some PG. It seemed like his coach was frustrated with the starting PG not passing the ball, and switched JJ to the point. Looked like JJ knew what he needed to do, and setup the other scorers. I am unsure how JJ fits in right now, but the 3 guys from Mass (Tyler, Cobb and JJ) could have interchangeable roles
JS, any link to the video? Did he have to play against a lot of pressure in that game? Very important distinction IMO in determining whether a guy can truly be depended upon to play important minutes in that position. If he can, certainly that much better in the interchangeable roles that you desire for the Mass. threesome.

Here is a link of when JJ played some PG for ND Prep. He is #2. Go to the 8 min mark and you will see him in that Role for a few minutes. If you watch the begining part of the tape you will see he rarely saw the ball from the other PG.
He was not under intense pressure, but he showed he can see the floor and penetrate. He also hit a shot. I don't think he is a true PG, but looks as though he has the ability to create some offense. I have hard time seeing what type of player he is as he was an aggressive scorer/PG/Star in HS, and then when he plays on a star-studded ND Prep team he seems to just be fitting in.
NERR came out with their updated rankings for Mass...... Cobb is still 3rd, and in the story they say that he should be an "Immediate Impact" player for us. We are in desperate need for that along with him being a 3G type player .
Falzon and Sharma lead the way in Mass as they have done all year, but next up is a trio of guys who could all make pretty significant contributions at the next level. Curtis Cobb should be an instant impact player for Fairfield in the MAAC

I expect big things from Mr. Cobb next year. Glad we have Gilbert and Nelson as established talent to take some of the pressure off the young man and I think it will ultimately make everyone better.
The biggest question mark of course is what will we get at PG. Segura desperately needs to have a jump in his Soph year. Although I don't like running players off the team, roles will be much clearer without Rose on the bench.
