St Peters beat Canisius 61-57 playing in Jersey City. Canisius had a 1 point lead with 2 min to go and then St Peters hit back to back 3-pointers to put it away. We have not been getting help from other MAAC teams trying to beat St Peters or Manhattan. We will have to win it on our own.
St Peters 9-6 Manhattan 8-6 Fairfield 8-7
St Peters will be tough to beat, Manhattan has a rough stretch in the next 4

Pretty tight one going between Monmouth and Manhattan, 43-39 Monmouth. Robinson charges ahead with his arm like a running back, out of control... foul on Manhattan.
Luv to see Manhattan win on wed. That would leave a three way tie for 4-6 at that time. The stags destiny could then be decided by their performance over the next few games. Win or go to the "pig" it is in your hands, don't need anyone else help! Time to put up or shut up.
No way there were more than 900 at the game last night, even 700 would be generous....
It looked that way and even worse on SNY. Even with the Box Score "creative accounting" by the University, this season will set the record low for attendance by the Men's Basketball program at the WBA and also lower than any season at AH since turning Division 1 in 1964. With one home game remaining, the attendance average is now down to 1,237 and that includes AH games of 2,113 and 1,887.
Averaging over 4,000 empty seats (7,700+ in the entire building) in a hockey rink arena gives the team NO "home court advantage" and makes it feel like a neutral site for the opposition. Clearly something is not working or wrong. This should be a problem and a concern by now to someone in charge at the University. "Just win and everything will fall in place" is not a plan nor does it work. The status quo is not acceptable or at least it shouldn't be to those in charge.
Sydney Johnson @coachjstags on Jan 4 Playing on campus is such a terrific home court advantage. We'll need you guys again vs St Peter's on JANUARY 19TH!!!
Initially I counted about 300 but then stragglers kept filing in right through halftime, so the final estimate was somewhere between 500 and 700. It was a horrendous night to drive, not as bad going down but when leaving the car was coated with a sheet of ice from the freezing rain. A car passed us out on rte 8 going home then began to fishtail, luckily he didn't crash and we were able to slow down enough to avoid an accident.

if Manhattan loses then we have won it on our own due to our record, provided we win our games

For the season above and since Manhattan has the tougher schedule, I feel its best to root for Manhattan to lose this game. At this time, both Manhattan and St Peters are playing very well, so its going to be a dogfight.
JS -- if we go unbeaten the rest of the way and we end with the same amount of wins as Siena do we hold the tiebreaker?
It all depends on which games Siena loses and which games we win .
Here is the scenario that could happen : - If Siena loses their next 2 games….. @rider and Iona (H) ==> about 20% chance - And Fairfield sweeps the Buffalo trip ==> about 20% chance
We will be tied with Siena, and be playing them at home for 3rd place on the last weekend of the season.

The Iona-Monmouth game is a big game for the Stags. It would a key tie breaker for the Stags, if Iona can win tonight .
Iona up 44-25 at the half
Wouldn't monmouth would need to lose one more game after Iona for this to matter? Or do you mean it would help in a tiebreaker if we move into third with Siena?
