Comparing their current efficiency margin ratings with how they were rated in the preseason, Haslam has Siena as the second most disappointing team in D1 so far this season—- second only to UCLA.
It would be difficult for ESPN to showcase Mahoney on Friday January 26th as we don’t have a home game that day. Here’s the MAAC schedules for those days that ESPN can flex a game to ESPNU.
From the MAAC release in late October:
In regards to the four wildcard dates, any MAAC men’s basketball regular-season contest on the docket can be flexed to air on ESPNU as part of the MAAC Wildcard Package. ESPN and the MAAC will announce the wildcard game 21 days prior to the scheduled game. The wildcard format allows ESPN to pick any game scheduled for that specific date to air on ESPNU, giving the flexibility to showcase the best matchups as the season progresses.
MAAC Wildcard Games, Dates, Times:
Friday, January 26 • 7 p.m. Iona at Siena Manhattan at Canisius Marist at Niagara
Friday, February 23 • 9 p.m. Fairfield at Quinnipiac Iona at Rider Marist at Manhattan Niagara at Canisius Saint Peter’s at Mount St. Mary’s
Friday, March 1 • 7 p.m. Fairfield at Marist Manhattan at Siena Mount St. Mary’s at Canisius Quinnipiac at Iona Rider at Niagara
Thursday, March 7 • 7 p.m. Canisius at Fairfield Iona at Manhattan Marist at Quinnipiac Niagara at Siena Saint Peter’s at Rider

That's my point, schedule us on a day when the wildcard game will be scheduled and we're home. Thats the problem. Nobody doing the scheduling any sense of marketing their league in the best light. Didn't fit the schedule last year and again this year. We still have a shot at the Canisius game, but may not be the best match up. MAAC IS CLUELESS.

Totally agree. And the fact that the Mahoney Gym in its second year has not yet and perhaps will not appear on regular ESPNU television is a sham and certainly backs up your characterization of the league with regards to this matter.

The MAAC chose early on to have the 2/16 Friday Matchup of Iona vs Manhattan be on ESPNU. My only hope is the league reevaluates that choice and picks up our home game vs Niagara!
Heard something surprising while watching the Seton Hall-Creighton game. The announcer said after Creighton’s game at UConn midweek, they held a practice at Fairfield University before heading to New Jersey for the Seton Hall game today.

Maybe the compensation was a home and home 2 year contract.😂
Was wondering how QU lost by 20 points at Canisius in December. Part of the explanation might be in these results from Haslam showing that Canisius plays better against good teams. Additionally, QU only hit 15% of its threes that game while Canisius hit 54% of its 3s.
Interesting commitment to QU. Verbalcommits shows 2 guards (Lewis and Balanc) are on their last year of eligibility. It looks like those are the only 2 scholarships they have available. They get a commitment from a 6’8” player from Archbishop Stepinac. I have to assume one or more of Quinny’s frontcourt players have informed Pecora of non-QU plans for next season, freeing up more scholarships for them.
